Yeah I had input lag on playstation, I had to move to PC in the end. But yeah connecting via optical output is the best option for PS4. I had to connect to sound output directly to my sound system, and not through the TV.
I still play Rocksmith every now and again when I get the itch. But yeah, another aging guitarist here that's nowhere near as good as I should be after years of "playing" guitar.
There are actually more than just a few games that blend both gameplay and narrative. You kind of have to define what you mean by gameplay though - since gameplay can mean different things to different games. Take strategy games - lets say X-Com for example; the gameplay is excellent, and it could be argued that the narrative is inconsequential - by that I mean that the story is a bonus. Definately, the first infamous I think is my favourite, it was the old school rugged art style that I loved. The sequels got a bit too clean and polished as they went along, and were alot less gritty.
I hope we get another infamous game next gen. One of my favourite franchises and iirc was my first platinum trophy.
