When you switch on your game console, but spend the next 40mins deciding what games to play instead of just going to bed...
I got 2 x Move Controllers, 1 x Nav Controller, Sports Champions (4me and the wife) + Start the Party (4the kids).
Loving Sports Champions, and the kids are falling all over Start The Party in hysterics.
Great purchase all round, I highly recommend it!!!
The game should be reviewed from a kids perspective i.e 4 - 12 year olds as the writer states. Adult will have bag loads of fun when playig with kids (even if for only about 15mins befor ethe whole thing wears thin). But the kids will keep coing back for more. I find the best way to get the kids entertained for longer, is to alternate between, Start the Party and Eyepet, and Sports Champions (although the Gladiator Duel does bring out the 'competitive spirit' in my kids lol)!
"The PlayStation Move has given the PS3 a new lease on life, and in some ways, the PS3 is video game console, reborn"
I wholeheartedly agree with that statement. I never got round to getting a Wii, but after playing Sports Champions with friends all last night, it became cristal clear why the Wii has been so succesful. Motion controlled gaming, when done right is fun. On the PS3 right now, it's a heck of alot of fun!!!
The kids adn their friends absolutely loved start the Party and even my 4 year old was able to play it. I loved Sports Champions, and haven't had such a blast playing with "the other dads" is such a looong time!
Great purchase all round. "the other dad" is now going to get a PS3 for Christmas as well!
but I've already got a SDTV...
but I've already got a black and white TV...
but I've already got moving pictures...
but I've already got books...
but I've already got sticks and stones...
so fkin stay in the stone age then!!!
Awesomeness, sounds like DS2. Hopefully they keep the dark brutality of DS, but amp up on the story and overall production values.
Oh yeah, and please please please, add Move support - and then you can have my wallet :)
Well all eyes on M$ to see what they'll announce, , but I'm pretty sure their focus will be on Kinect going forward. They might steal FFv13, which would not be a surprise to anyone, but would proves what we all knew anyways about M$ underhanded business strategy. At this point, it would most likely be seen as desperation more than anything else. All the blame can't be placed on M$ however, SE have to take their share of the blame. While I acknowledhe that that have a business to r...
Very good review, if I had not already pre-ordered Move, I would have done after watching that video review. Very well balanced with both the positive and negative aspects of the Move, and I liked the coverage of how the Move performs with a range of games. I agree that the Eye camera should come with a clip, as the heavy cord does make it tricky to keep the Eye centred (the problem I think is caused 'cos the usb port is at the front of the PS3, while the cord for the Eye leads into the b...
Agree with you. It always amazes me how bad game journalism is from an editing and gramatical point of view. It's no wonder the media don't give gaming the credibility it deserves - with jouno's like this guy. It is obvious he did not proof read or edit his own article.
Anyways, can't wait for more info on The Last Guardian!
I think Move has proved that motion controls can be done right. The Wii missed it's opportunity to take gaming forward with good implementation of motion controls. It has however been very succesful in bringing in the casual demographic to gaming, for which both Sony and M$ now want to capitalise on. But yeah, The PS Move is bascically motion control done properly.
Ico is the only game that really illicited a deep sense of empathy within me for the charatcers. I can't remember another game giving me such an emotional responce to it's charatcers. Simple brilliant, and I can't wait to revisit it in all it's HD glory!
Sony's strategy works for me as a core gamer much better than M$ strategy. M$ is selling out the core gamer for the casual, and have not shown anything worth shouting about from a core gamer perspective. People keep going on about its 'future potential', but fail to realise that if kinectimals and ricochete are enough to draw in the casual crowd for M$, the potential will already have bee realised, and the rest of us are stuck with shovelware and on-rail games.
Hopefully will be getting 2xMove controllers and 1x Nav controler in the post tomorrow (Friday at the latest). Simply can't wait! I'm like a child in a toy store on Christmas Eve.
So much content to download, man wish I had more money and a faster ISP.
...not unless he sells his account on ebay or something... and that is generally frowned upon by the devs anyways!
Where's Heavy Rain 2, Sony please make it happen!!!!
I can't wait. Absolutely loved Ico, it's it'll get another shine in the spotlight to again elevate it's classic status.
...where? I have yet to see any new experiecnes. While Sony were busy showing tech demos and giving the public hands-on time with their tech, M$ where showing on rail games, and staged demos.
My point is that M$ have had alot of time to demonstrate some of the "new experiecnes", everyone keeps spouting, but as of yet they have not been able to. How much longer before you realise that they are simply cashing in on the Wii market in a bad way!
I think it's fair to say that Move has all the right elements to become a viable and succesful control method for future games, i.e. it is not a gimmick. We all knew the launch line up would be thin on AAA games, but big on casualware, it seems Sony were aware of this as well, but pulled a trojan horse by getting devs to patch existing games with Move support.
Will it sell a millon copies day 1, probably not - but it will continue to steadily move units just like it'...
I'd rent a game and stay in my dorm room, not realising what time/day it was until the game was completed. I remember games like Onimusha, Ico, Kill.Switch, Manhunt, Silent Hill 2 etc etc I completed most in 1 sitting, and it would take me like 2 - 3 days, and I would only go out my room to visit the canteen at lunch times...
Interesting story though, my gf at the time was big into her RPG's, Baldurs Gate, Everquest II, Final Fantasy X! Naturally I was so impressed ...
