Hmm.. might consider getting this, but it's a bit steep with that controller.
The Witcher 3 is in a class of it's own. Saying that though, Mass Effect Andromeda is enjoyable enough.
too little, too late? or very little, very late??? After playing Mass Effect Andromeda, I realised that it was the No Man's Sky I was looking for.
Give Mass Effect Andromeda a break already, it really isn't a bad game - even narratively. The main problem with story telling in open world RPG's is that, you have side quests that take you off the beaten path, and which can then remove focus from the main story. A great story driven RPG's is one where the side quests are just as meaningful and impactful as the main story quest. The Witcher 3 is the best example of this, and to a lesser extent Horizon Zero Dawn. MAss Effect Andro...
It's nowhere near as bad as the fallout that No Man's Sky received - that went nuclear! And I don't think Hello Games will recover from that anytime soon. Mass Effect Andromeda - on the other hand, is nowhere near as bad as No Man's Sky, or Assassin's Creed Unity were at launch. It's still a very good game, all things considered, shame it has a few bugs - none of which are actually game breaking. By-and-large, it's just the gaming media again whipping everyone up i...
I completely agree. Mass Effect Andromeda is a good game. Not great, but a good game none the less. But it takes time to get going storywise, and for some of the gameplay systems to really come into their own, like grafting and mods etc.
Just shows that it was such a big deal over nothing. I can barely notice any difference.
errm.. what? I get that they are RPG's, but beyond that please explain how any of those games you listed are like Mass Effect Andromeda?
I'm absolutely loving ME:A. I don't get what the big problem is. There isn't another game out there quite like it.
Wow! More power to the community.
I thought it was for Kinect, ESPN, Hulu and Netlfix??? Huh?!? I must have been wrong then.
If you've played the trilogy then you would know that they also had bad facial animation in many places. Since when was that more important than depth of gameplay?
Just get a PS4 instead of whining about your lack of exclusives.
I love Mass Effect Andromeda, glitches and all. I don't know when facial animation became the defining factor for if a game is fun and enjoyable.
What platform are you playing on? I have noticed one of two glitches here and there, but nothing on the scale of what your describing. I'm playing on the PS4 Pro though.... so...
I'm actually loving the game. I don;t know what people where expecting, but it's nowhere as bad as the media hype is making out.
I know it's not a PS Plus game, but Horizon Zero Dawn is really easy to Platinum.
Nope.
Sony have found their Lara Croft. In fact I think I prefer Aloy. She's less of a stiff upper lip girl, and more of a bright side of life girl.
Good article, but I think the real issues is the level of investment in first party exclusives, and to a smaller extent third party exclusives as well.
Sony have been consistently investing big in their first party studios over the generations, and the messaging has come through loud and clear. It's not as much about the raw numbers of exclusives, or even necessarily the quality (metacritic be damned) of the exclusives - it's the messaging and the profile that Sony...
