tom chick reviewing uncharted 3 (paraphrased)
"whats with all this artistic, cinematic presentation and shit? it gets in the way of shooting stuff! I just want to shoot stuff, dammit" 5/10
tom chick reviewing max payne 3 (paraphrased)
"why is it all about shooting and non-stop action? couldnt we get some more substance?" 4/10
no wonder this guy has been fired numerous times
I would just love to imagine how Tom Chick and Jim Sterling would react to being stuck in the middle of a football stadium filled with the developers of the numerous fantastic games that they have trashed for hits.
people, we need to stop rewarding attention-whoring clowns like Tom Chick and Jim Sterling. I have been saying it for years. They have no integrity as reviewers. They give great games horrendous, unjustifiable scores and just to reap the benefits of it. We have ena...
even if this game gets nothing but 8 and 9 scores, the metascore will still be dragged down at least by 10 points because of this nonsensical troll review.
you gotta love a system that enables sites like destructoid and quartertothree to bolster their influence by dishing out preposterously extreme reviews. and gaining a lot ad revenue to top it off.
People like Tom Chick and Jim Sterling are the scum of gaming. they make their living shitting upon the quali...
its funny to read the comments on the review page from Jim's circle of sycophants
"im glad I didnt pick this up! thanks jim"
if you go by Jim Sterling's opinion when purchasing games, than you have missed out on A LOT of fantastic games, like Vanquish and gravity rush.
The man wouldnt know a good game unless it were listed on the menu at mcdonalds. Jim Sterling is a pretentious imbecile and so are each and every one of his ...
that is like if Michael Bay and Roland Emmerich combined their forces. ugh.
what do you want to bet that Farcry 3, Bioshock Infinite, and Borderlands 2 will be ten times better than anything these guys end up releasing? it will just rehashed, MP focused, casual crap
enough with the 6 star scale. its pretentious and lame
first off, why are you assuming I didn't use the move?
secondly, the controls arent even the main issue I have with the game. to start
- the presentation is flawed and cartooney (character animations especially)
- there are numerous technical hiccups (texture pop-in and clipping glitches)
- the game is way too short to be acceptable. it is one and a half hours, and the size of its world is smaller than a COD map
- the puzzles are n...
i am holding out hope for this movie. I think that the "Chronicle" guy has a decent enough aptitude in storytelling and cinematography. and yes, they had better use the original score. they would have to be fucking mental not to
zelda really should have learned from "shadow of the colossus"
im sure there is plenty of symbolism in it, but it is still a clumsy, clumsy game.
lmao. I get disagrees for pointing out facts. typical nintendrones
you want to talk about jealousy? nintendo fans and wii-only onwers have lambasted the entire shooter genre this gen, regardless of critical reception.
and now they want to hype up this turd, simply because they are finally getting an FPS. Its no different than how they were hying up the "conduit" games.
too bad for them, they arent getting the best upcoming FPS games (bioshock infinite, farcry 3, and borderlands 2).
atari already had wireless controllers and shoulder buttons. analog triggers were already on PC joysticks. there were saved games on PC for years before legend of zelda. online? umm no. look up maze war and numerous PC games.
that is just off the top of my head.
but whatever. I know where your loyalties lie, and im sure you think the same of me.
the game looks like trash, regardless. terrible animations, derivative level design, repetitive enemy types, unimpressive graphics, and probably weak AI.
sorry to rain on your parade
ever since sony entered the fray, they have done more to innovate console tech than nintendo (controller wise and format wise) and they have produced far far more new IPs over the past 16 years. Nintendo has always lacked good third party support, even with the gamecube, as well as online experiences. On top of that, they rely on the same franchises for decades. Sony takes more risks and does more new things.
nintendo did save console gaming back with the NES and has provided...
just from playing the demo, I can tell for a fact that Gravity Rush is not a 6.5/10.
this comment (from a blogger I follow) sums it all up
"A lot of people have told me that Destructoid gave this game (Asura's Wrath) a 5/10 but let's be honest here, Destructoid SUCKS. They always give games low reviews so people click on their shit. Deadly Premonition a 10/10? I don't fuckin think so!!! Vanquish a 5/10??? KISS MY ASS! What do all these review...
why dont you get them a good star wars game?
like the lego star wars "Complete saga" on xbox or PS3
So what? kids will enjoy the recent "Smurfs" movie or "alvin and the chipmunks" movies. that doesnt justify the creators setting their quality to the lowest standard possible. something can still be aimed at kids and be well made. Pixar movies are a fine example of that (most of them, anyway). They have lasting artistic appeal and it will stick with kids for the rest of their lives.
in the realm of games, there are hundreds of great games that little kids ...
"who is buying the game?"
idiots. isn't it obvious?
it is sad today that people have this notion that they should be buying low quality, casual crap for their kids because apparently that is all a kid is capable of playing. its nonsense. there are plenty of legit, quality titles that even little kids can play and enjoy. you dont need to feed them schlock like "kinect star wars."
even IOS games are a sound alternative t...

oh, go back to your hole on QT3. No one cares about your sycophantic devotion to this washed up, pretentious, discredited, obnoxious, intellectual wasteland of a human being, known as "Tom Chick."
No one holds his opinion in high regard. He is stooge and an attention whore. That is all he will ever be.
