there is a reason why arcade games should not be counted just the same as retail games. the fact that they are $15, as opposed to $60 should give you a hint as to why.
as fun as some of them may be (I love the hell out of journey), they are not a replacement for retail games. they are good on the side, but they cant carry a console. I thought this was evident from the day 1.
*reads title* this is going to be funny
*reads article* oh god, it is
it is funny how they are up front about padding the list out with arcade titles. weeeaaak
10) crimson dragon (an on rails kinect game? yeah, sounds great)
9) mark of ninja (arcade. whatever. i can play games like this on newgrounds.com)
8) steel battalion (another on rails kinect game. I have heard nothing but bad things about the controls)
7) minecraft (not ...

here are 183 clear, documented cases of fox news bending the truth and flat out lying. These are just in the past few years

"The author speaks as if the inclusion of these services actually take away from the development of games"
how many retail exclusives has the 360 released in the past 6 months.... hmmmmmm
best article I have read in a while. Microsoft needs to worry about getting some new IPs and retail exclusives, before they start worrying about twitter, facebook, and youtube, which I already have on my PC and smart phone. im not going to pay them $60 a year for stuff I can get elsewhere for free.
I have been saying that it will be the Wii all over again, since it was revealed last year.
anyway, the hardcore fans of nintendo will be happy with it, regardless. They were happy with the wii apparently, despite al its flaws. As long as it has their big franchises like Mario and Zelda, they can overlook the deficiencies in graphics and features
still, i cant wait to see the damage control once the wii u goes up against the next playstation and xbox console...
i guess it makes sense to include "wii" in the title, so they can cash in on the same casual crowd they did with the original wii. We all know they are who the tablet controller was made for. it would be pretty naive to think it was put in there so that they could enhance the hardcore gamer's experience.
anyway, at least the name "wii 2" wouldnt be as obnoxious of a name as "wii u"
lol. fox news. an endless source of both hilarity and disgust. I would not be surprised if they did this
more likely than seeing gang related inunendo in children's games, they would probably make the typical accusations that it is
"subconsciously promoting the gay agenda and brainwashing your kids."
Keith Ablow does this a near constant basis, being the paranoid, mentally stunted, bigoted fear/hate monger that he is. He would...
i dont know. regardless, im sure Akai Katana is a good game, but I do not trust this site's input, one iota.
with “jak and daxter HD” they said the series was a GTA and Banjoe Kazooie ripoff and that it isnt a classic franchise. Wow…. Just wow.
with twisted metal, they whined because they got their asses kicked in the online and claimed that the learning curve was too steep (even though there are tutorials for all the weapons and MP modes).
ah, good old metrogame central
jak and daxter collection 6/10
starhawk 6/10
twisted metal 6/10
yakuza dead souls 6/10
datura 4/10
Kinect Rush: A Disney-Pixar Adventure 7/10
"We’re not sure yet whether we think it will work"
oh please. Diablo 3 is not a graphical paragon. it would not be hard to port it to consoles. there have been numerous games like it before on current gen consoles (Sacred 2, for example).
and also
"and whether we think we have the resources to do it”
now they're just bullshitting us
ODST is worse, but Reach was the most disappointing. I actually read the book "fall of reach" which is infinitely more interesting than the game. in terms of expanding and adding depth to the halo universe Halo reach's campaign did nothing. It didnt present anything compelling as a prequel or explain anything we didnt already know. the characters are totally uninteresting, have no real backstory, and die in ridiculous ways (we don’t have a detonator… kamikaze time !!!). they tot...
the only voice that seems appropriate is the guy at 1:30
1:36 seriously. listen to clank's voice here. it is so ridiculously high pitched. and ratchet sounds like a girl.
and people complain about american dubbing......
if it werent for that surge in xbox kinect bundle sales over the holidays (by primarily casuals who are probably already done with them by now), the PS3 would be ahead in sales.
in the long run, the PS3 will still be around a year or 2 after microsoft drops all support for the 360, and it will have the most sales in the end, making up for microsoft's head start.
didnt the 360 already have an 8 million lead when the PS3 launched? someone is catching up....
it is asinine to grant psn/arcade titles the same status as retail exclusives. are you telling me that velocity should be listed next to last of us? or fez listed by halo 4? there is an immense difference in production value, content, technical quality, and immersion, as fun as downloadable titles may be sometimes.
very few downloadable titles emulate a retail game experience. examples would be Festival of Blood, Alan Wake's American Nightmare, and Journey, but those gam...
the japanese voices are very odd
arcade/psn titles = a high profit to risk ratio in terms of investment
it is a way of playing it safe and not investing too much into new exclusives.
while they can provide interesting, fun experiences, virtually none of them match the content or level of immersion of retail games. that is why they are $15 (or $20 when microsoft knows they can price gouge people)
Microsoft can't simply coast by on arcade titles. or at least they shouldnt ...
i cant wait to see how the vita version turns out. i would really like to have a good portable MMO
we all know that the coming kinect games will be lucky to get metascores in the 60s. They are all on rails, they all have control issues, and they all are garbage. the kinect is a device that patently precludes hardcore gaming.
you are paying $60 a year to play non-exclusives and arcade games. If you are happy with that, it is because you have allowed microsoft to condition you to be content with a sub-standard library. not just by this gen's standards, but previous gen s...
