this goes to prove that watering down your franchise to appeal to a wider audience makes it appeal to no one. you alienated true fans of survival horror and your game flopped. and your attempt to rake in money through micro transactions backfired horribly. you got what you deserved.
with the music and scenery, i feel like I should be watching the opening credits to a 70s movie. which is kinda awesome

nintendo and microsoft got a lucky break last gen, after 10 long years of unparalleled sony domination in the console market.

i dont think the whole conference was "hardcore male gamers only." there are casuals in my family who were interested. my mom is hyped about "the witness" and she doesnt play many games
thats a really dumb decision. it should be on the PS4. not only for the game's good, but also it would be good for the PS4 launch
god of war is infinitely more impressive on an artistic and gameplay level than gears. i have nothing against gears of war, but god of war is much more ambitious
you can play your little semantics game with what "innovation" means until your heart's content, but the point remains that the PS4's network is an exponential leap ahead of what we have now, from speed to features. i just call that "innovation." i call that a "day 1 purchase"

- sub par specs
- shoddy online
- lousy third party support
- launching with no killer aps
- a mostly dry first year
- no future proofing whatsoever
sony has basically done the exact opposite of those things with the PS4.
so the answer is a resounding "no"
that just means no PS1 games and no music CDs. big deal. we already knew it wouldnt be natively backwards compatable with the PS1, ps2, or ps3. people all use MP3s for music these days. so who cares?
and even if this ends up including DVDs as well, do you really need your cutting edge 400-500 console to play DVDs on? a dvd player is 10 or 20 bucks, for crying out loud. plus you have numerous streaming services.
i cant beleive its been this long and we are still having to speculate about this game's graphics and its release date
square enix is the most incompetent, out of touch studio on the planet. its like they have disdain for their fans
im not buying a PS4 to play PS3 and PS2 games. that is such a trifling issue.
you have to remember that PS3 games are made to work with the cell processor, which this console doesnt have. its a totally different infrastructure. backwards compatibility would only pointlessly drive up the costs of production.
