They hit all the main points. I think the review missed the in-game music feature, which is pretty cool (but I was skimming, so it might be me that missed it :-) ).
This game is simply addictive. The better you get at a table, the more you want to keep playing. I'm working on Tesla right now (managed to break the top 20 overall), but there are so many special modes in it, that you just want to keep shooting for the top.
They are spot on with the community aspec...
What "version" did he play? They don't tell us, but I think it's safe to assume it is *not* the final release, since they said "the version he played."
My second question is, what exactly did he feel was wrong? They didn't tell us that either (unless it's in the podcast, which I don't have time to listen to). All they said was the game wasn't "polished to a fine shine."
This article is too short and too vague to be taken seriously. ...
Yeah, originally it was "speculation" based on some ads that were seen around on the net. (consequently, that's why in my first post I was a tad cynical, saying that we would probably have to buy a phone to get the free game... :-P ) Glad I was wrong.
Yup, from the playstation blog:
"Hi Everyone –
For the first time on PlayStation Network, we have partnered with Sprint to bring you the PSN exclusive game, Rag Doll Kung Fu: Fists of Plastic, for FREE in the U.S. store. That’s right. The game is free to download this week. Check out the Sprint channel on PlayStation Store to access the game, free Sprint videos, wallpapers and an exclusive NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Monsters XMB Theme.
Also, Bionic C...
Yeah, I'm guessing you'll have to either buy a sprint phone or activate service or something, and then they'll give you a free game. But I guess we'll find out.
I don't know about anyone else, but I'm pretty excited about the Zen Pinball game. That's the type of game I could sink hours into; simple and addictive (I hope, anyway).
Might have to get the cuboid add-on as well, depending on price and what it adds.
I in no way meant to imply that *no one* wants to buy DLC. And similarly I didn't say that having the option to purchase DLC is a bad thing. It's of course a very good thing.
I was speaking from a personal standpoint, saying that with my limited funds, *I* would rather spend my money on many of the great new games coming out.
Yeah, there are way too many good games coming to waste even $10 on DLC.
Although, i have to admit (and I know this isn't a popular opinion), but i wasn't very fond of GTAIV. I did enjoy it for a little bit, but I never even finished playing the game...
Oh yeah. That Uncharted beta voucher was one of the reasons I actually preordered. That and the sale price at Amazon (and obviously the game looking frickin' sweet.)
Honestly, I'll have to reserve judgment of which is better until i actually play both games, but if we're talking which I'm more excited for, it's infamous, hands down.
Prototype looks like good too though, and if it's better, I'll say so. But there's no sense taking sides before playing both.
I kept trying to convince myself *not* to buy this day one (I'm cheap). But after watching this review video, and seeing that Amazon has it for $53.99 plus special pre-order bonuses, I made the plunge.
Can't wait. Looks freakin' sweet.
EDIT: Jmare, not sure what you mean. It is the review...
All last year, no matter what happened, I could count on reading articles about the PS3 dying a slow and painful death. The reason? Sales numbers being low, and a high price tag.
The media (and fanboys) beat it like a dead horse. And still do.
Now the media (and fanboys) have latched on to the next dead horse: the 360 *allegedly* not having any good games coming out.
You can expect dozens upon dozens of articles about it. Not because it's really that...
Also, the person playing would have no doubt known where to run (being most likely one of the devs or testers), which would explain how they were able to have "lightening fast" reflexes.
If it's not actual in-game capture, it does look to at least use the in-game engine, like how none of Uncharted's cut scenes are CGI.
Either way, looks great.
That looks sweet. I'm so pissed right now. I can't afford for there to be so many great games coming out! :-)
The opening looks outstanding. I have to say, I'm equally looking forward to this and Infamous. They are both gonna rock.
I honestly think there's a chance this one will be good. I mean come on. Akroyd and Ramis wrote the script!
Like I said, I'm pulling for this. If I'm disappointed, so be it.
I for one, am looking forward to this game. No, I'm not going to go running out and buy it for $60 on the first day, but I *am* really pulling for this game, and hoping it will be good.
Yes, I'm a fan of the movies. For my money, Bill Murray is a comedic genius, and Akroyd and Ramis are not too far off. The mere fact that they wrote the script and voiced the characters is enough for me to at least rent the thing.
Concerning the other "controversy" surrou...
Cry me a river.
This dude has got to get over it. I thought he might slash his wrists halfway through the article.
I think everyone who read this article can agree that his points, while good, make very little actual impact on most gamers.
Yeah, the trophies take a few seconds to load, you have to sync them up, and you have to navigate the XMB to peruse them. As I read the article, I thought, "Oh yeah, he's right." But more importantly, I never really noticed to the extent the author did. I never said to myself, "Oh, man. If only these trophies loaded instantly, this would ...
Yeah, this isn't a huge issue, but it is an annoyingly obvious omission from our online experience. One of the first things I noticed when I set up my PSN account was the small number of avatars to select from, and the inability to upload your own.
Couldn't they even implement something like what the 360 does? They have those cartoon avatars that they create and then can take a picture of to use on their profiles. It'd be nice if we could snap a shot of our Home avatars to use...
Hey.
Yeah, they actually have about 5 different views to choose from. 3 of the views pan around the table, and 2 are in a fixed position. I'm with you on this one, I like the fixed position too (I use 1W, which is a lower angle on the table).
