Maybe it's just me, but I don't think I'd spend much time creating levels with other people. I've only had the game for a couple months, and I'm loving it. But the level creation process tends to be long and complex.
The lack of this feature sure seems like a strange reason to stop playing the game...but maybe I'm missing something.
Are preorders an accurate indicator of actual sales? Preorders are usually no money to $5 down...right? I mean, just from personal experience, I know a lot of people who preorder stuff for bonuses, or just the heck of it, but never buy the game.
Also, should Uncharted have higher preorder number already? I thought the game isn't out for another 40-something days...right? Again, this is just me, but I am *definitely* getting Uncharted, and I haven't bothered preordering yet.
A word on the new friend's list:
After I downloaded the animated Afrika theme, I noticed that the friend's list stood out nicely from the moving background, making it 10 times easier to see. I think it's possible that the new gray boxes are there so once more animated themes come out, the friend's list icons, messages, etc, will be easier to read and see.
Besides, it's really not that bad. Sometimes I wonder when all gamers suddenly became art critics. :-P

The game was the gold box deal of the day, being sold for 10 bucks. Of course it shot to number 1!
This is definitely a close race. I agree with the article, that many will base their decision on the game selection, and why not when the prices are finally so similar.
Then, also consider that for someone without a HDTV or WIFI, the PS3's advantages are pretty worthless.
Having said that, it'd seem like the obvious choice for someone wanting the best value is the PS3 Slim.

It is pretty strange how the gaming community has decided to completely ignore the 360's one year lead. People go off on tangents about the 360 having more games and selling more, and I'm like..."Full year lead, people?"
What's even funnier is how for the last year and a half the gaming community has been whining about how badly the PS3 needs a price cut, and then as soon as they do it, all the articles come out: "...

Of course I do. But then I don't pay specifically for the streaming. I pay so I can rent blurays. As I've said a number of times, it's just a nice "extra."
Besides, the fact that you can watch some of those mentioned shows on the net doesn't take away from the fact that they are good options available on netflix streaming, which is what you asked about.
Also, the quality is much better with netflix streaming. Otherwise I'd eit...

Yeah, i don't own any of those either. That's sort of the best use for netflix streaming. you get to watch stuff you might have missed otherwise.
I'd say about 40% of the stuff I watch in streaming netflix is crap, 50% is a pleasant surprise, and 10% is stuff I either saw before, or knew about.
Like I've said, it's just a nice "extra" to supplement my other entertainment options.

First, you're, of course, entitled to your opinion. And you are right, there's A LOT of garbage on the instant stream. A LOT.
But, there's some decent stuff too. As I mentioned, I use playon with my PS3. Primarily, I use Netflix for the bluray rental. But the instant view is a nice "extra" for off days.

Exactly. I'm always amused when people use Netflix as an argument *against* bluray (because of the streaming feature) when Netflix is actually the cheapest solution for those who want to watch Bluray but not purchase them.
You can still have the best of both worlds. I subscribe to Netflix and get my blurays, plus I have playon and stream my Netflix on to the PS3. Not to mention Hulu, youtube, adult swim, etc etc.
I wouldn't be surprised if other playon-like solutions become available in the future too.
Yeah, I've also been using this since the beta. It's awesome. I watch hulu and netflix streaming movies on my PS3 more than I watch regular TV these days.
Does Tversity stream netflix and hulu? I thought it was mostly podcasts/webcasts and media on your computer?

The costume packs are cool and all, but I personally prefer the creator packs, or even better, new level packs ala the MGS4 add on.
How cool would a few infamous levels for LBP be? And instead of the paintinator, they could give us Cole's electro-zap. Nice.

I think I'd rather hold out to see if there are any better pre-order bonuses offered through other stores/sites.

I plan to do my best to ignore the rampant BS going on at the moment, and pick the game up very soon. I'm a huge GB fan, so I'm sure I'll enjoy it.
because I never have any problems with firmware updates. I even heard complaints of long download times for this one, and mine downloaded faster than previous ones, in like 10 minutes max.
