1. Higher sales doesn't translate into a superior product.
2. LAZLOW HIMSELF said that the 360 version is the one to get.
3. GTA IV has higher competition on the 360. What else is a PS3 owner going to buy right now?
4. Only the 360 has the exclusive DLC to breathe new life into the game this fall.
Yeah, GOW is pretty to look at, but consider all of the multi-console games that look better on the 360. I'm not talking about my own opinion either...I'm talking about numerous video game websites and mags. What the future holds in store is anyone's guess. As of this point in time, the 360 has outperformed the PS3 in terms of graphics.
And fanatical ignorance...are you serious? Do you see any 360 fanboys pretending to be corporate executives, talking in the first person, or ...
I'm glad you think I'm usually sensible, but yeah, I love the R6V games. COD4 is prettier to look at, and one of my favorite games, but for gameplay, I'll take R6V2 anyday.
Yeah, I know about them, and I agree with you. I just assumed they are talking about the next "real" GTA, so to speak, not taking away from San Andreas and Vice City.
Yeah, that ®, you ®etard.
Don't forget about Ghostbusters. I think that one will do well too.
Apparently Kaz really enjoys the taste of his own foot.
What's wrong with Tom Clancy games? I haven't played one yet that I didn't enjoy. I agree that whether this version of Splinter Cell sounds iffy, but most T.C. games are great, especially the Rainbow Six: Vegas series. As far as multiplayer fun goes, not even Halo 3 or COD 4 can hold a candle to R6V2.
All you have to know is that western RPG's rule, and Japanese RPG's suck. If you like video game characters that look like models and fighting systems where you have to be nice and take turns, then get a Jap RPG. If you want something that's kickass like Oblivion, Mass Effect, or the eventual Fallout 3, then go with the western RPG.
GTA III was released in October 2001. Yes, you read that right, 2001. There might be a new Xbox by the time GTA V comes out, at this rate at least.
All of these lists are opinions, and nothing more. If we're judging consoles by the amount of impact that they have on society, then the original NES is still the king. If we're judging by sales, then the PS2 reigns supreme. If we're judging by graphics, then the 360 is the console to beat (sorry PS3 fans, but deep down you know it's true).
Bottom line is, there are many ways to judge the top 10 systems of all time. This list is just an author's opinion.
I won't be able to play GTA IV, Resident Evil 5 or Gears of War 2 on a Wii, so Wii's are pretty worthless to me. However, with dominating sales figures, the Wii is far from done.
The Wii is fun for me in small doses (my brother has one), but I won't buy one for myself.
"But for all these improvements, there are still a few niggles that detract from the experience."... if there's anything that Sony fans can't stand, it's a niggle.
Does the R in between the PLAYSTATION and 3 stand for retarded?
Please, if NG2 was a PS3 exclusive, we all know the kinds of things that Sony fans would be typing.
If it's true, then the series can truly move forward, away from the overkilled WWII first-person shooters.
Any game might suck...you never know until you play it.
MGS4 might suck...blasphemy, right? It's very doubtful that it will suck, but you never truly know until it's on the screen in front of you.
Gears 2 will most likely kick ass though, and deep down, everyone knows it will.
You forgot to add "better graphics", "higher frame rates", "smoother running games", "better textures", "less jaggies", and "more high-rated games" to your list.
You also forgot to mention how MS rated Sony's collection of exclusives to make many of them multiplatform. Speaking of that, isn't it ironic that many of the games that were Sony exclusives not only perform better, but sell more on the 360? Can't wait for G...
LMAO
GOW 1 to GOW 2 won't be like going from Xbox to the 360 or PS2 to PS3, but there are definitely some very noticeable enhancements. Check out this month's Game Informer.
Also, for those of you with a 360, go into the video section under Gears 2. There is a new video showing the improvements of the Unreal 3 engine, and it shows comparisons of what Gears 1 looked like and what Gears 2 will look like.
Yeah, that's what it is, a couple of new missions. I'm not even going to argue that point because I don't need to.
Yeah, PS3 will get the exact same DLC that the 360 is getting, just later. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
@jcfilth - maybe Splinter Cell or Ninja Gaiden II? That's just off the top of my head, I may find something else I want to play before then.
