Yes, I mean JRPG's. I too prefer western RPG's. Nothing compares with Oblivion and Fallout 3. I loved Mass Effect too and can't wait for the sequel. Of course, I haven't played Fable II yet, but that's next on my list to play.
I've said it before and will say it again: Japan is like a huge rock that MS just needs to keep chipping away at. If they keep securing great RPG's for the 360 and future consoles, they will continue to slowly make progress.
You're right that brand name does play a part, and PlayStation probably does carry more worldwide brand recognition than Xbox still. The only thing that can change that is time and advertising.
As long as MS continues to pump out great games and great exclusives and as long as they make sure future consoles are ready to be released before they send them to market so as not to further tarnish their image, they will do very well for themselves.
The PS3 will be the first PlayStation console not to finish in first place thanks to the resurgence of Nintendo and the Wii. The true battle is for second place. They will close the gap for sure, but can they pass the Xbox? Given the legions of PS2 owners, the possibility is there, but only time will tell how many of those PS2 owners jumped ship to MS or Nintendo (if they only purchase one console).

Hey Botto, if Apple or IBM joined the race, I'd consider getting one of their consoles if it was good enough. It will be tough to beat the 360's lineup, Live experience and controller though.

Jack Who, you're exactly right. I didn't see any petitions when Bioshock, Oblivion, etc. went over to the PS3. If I make a video game, I want to put it on as many consoles as possible to get the most money I can. I especially want it to be on the console that sells the most software, which is not the PS3.

Nah, no one is doomed, although many people like to cry doom and gloom. The market is big enough for three consoles. I doubt it's big enough for four though.

Don't mind the jealous retards. ODST will be awesome. People can say Halo sucks all they want to, but the fact is that there would've been a sharp drop off in sales from Halo 1 to 2 and from 2 to 3 if it sucked. While I'm not expecting ODST to sell as much as H3 since it's not a regular Halo game, I still think it will kick ass in sales. Actually, I KNOW it will, since it's already # 1 in pre-orders.

Even if the 360 and PS3 have both been "maxed out", and the upcoming games in the next 6 months such as Uncharted 2 and Alan Wake are they best they're going to get in terms of graphics, so what? They can still make incredible games in the next few years. Great gameplay is most important, the graphics are just the icing on the cake.
