The only reason that PS3 isn't selling well is because of the price (duh). They should've known that it was a bad sign when the audience let out a collective gasp when after they announced the price. The lack of heavy hitting exclusives doesn't help either. Sony is in a tough spot. They could easily see a spike in sales if they lower the price. However, lowering the price will hurt them in the short term even more with each unit sold. What if people buy the systems for BluRay and don't buy...

Is GTHD even out yet? I went on GameSpot's game page, and the only games that start with a G are Gauntlet II, Genji: Days of the Blade, and GripShift. They all had ratings in the low to mid 6.0 range. http://www.gamespot.com/gam...

Gears of War is extremely impressive in the visuals department. You probably shoul...

It could be to flood the market with BluRay. If Sony has the winning format, it would be more financially successful for the company than having the highest selling system. If BluRay is the only choice eventually, that means that EVERYONE is buying Sony's format.

I am a 360 loyalist, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the ps3 win in the end. There are a lot of ps2 owners who will get a ps3 based on name brand only, forget any research. Of course, I believe that there are a lot of ps2 owners who at some point played their buddy's Xbox and thought it was better, who are just waiting for price drop. At this point, it's still a craps shoot when guessing who will win.

I think it's safe to say that most people who haven't gotten a next gen sy...

I imagine that they will continue pumping out great HD games, on their great HD system.

Nah. It'll still be 5-7 years before we see the next X-box. I think that if the 360 has continued success, especially if it stays the leader or at least does a lot better than Xbox 1, which it looks like it will, that they'll milk its success for a little bit.

With an unmatched game lineup, including Halo 3, and a likely price cut on the way, I think the 360 will have a huge holiday season this year.

There's no need to worry my friend! If you go to ign or GameSpot and look at the upcoming games lineup, the 360 wins, hands down.

In a way, forcing BluRay on its customers was smart for Sony. I am by no means a Sony fan, however I recognize that making the ps3 a BluRay player has helped get the players into the market. It has made ps3 sales take a huge hit due to driving up the price and has alienated Sony fans who just want the ps3 for games, however it has helped make BluRay the #1 next gen DVD brand in North America so far.

That may change though, when Toshiba starts including HD-DVD players in its lap...

Usually graphics look similar on systems that are within the same generation (with a few exceptions). I don't think there will be a clear cut winner for graphics this gen. Most games that have come out for both systems have looked and performed better on the 360, even when the PS3 version has had more time put into it. If the PS3 has more potential, how long will it be before that potential is tapped? No one can say for sure.

The 360 is much more easy to program for. That goes...

And who could forget Mass Effect and BioShock? They will both probably be Game of the Year candidates as well.

Could be the superior game lineup.

Games are what truly defines a system. When it comes to pumping out great games, the 360 is the king of the mountain right now.

Two years is a long time to wait for good games. Sony has rested on its laurels a little bit these past couple of years. Giant crabs and "Riiiiiiiiiiiiidge Racerrrrrrrrr" isn't going to impress many people. Don't get me wrong, the PS3 is a very impressive system, but without many good games, it lacks substance. The 360 had quite a few great games 8 months in.

I agree man. There are so many exclusives and all around great games coming out on the 360 to keep us plenty busy. Although, I do think MGS4 will come out on the 360 eventually. When things are true, and companies can't yet comment on something, they say it's speculation. If it's not true, they are usually quick to debunk any rumors.

The video playback looks great, however the control panel looks a little cartoonish.

MGS4 could be a respectable counter for it, but Killzone will be no match for Halo, sales-wise.

That's a deal MySwordIsHeavenly. Except I don't feel like dropping 400 on another 360 when mine is perfectly fine, so we'll just factor in the time difference of when we had them. I've had mine since Feb. 06.

But enough about that. When you match up the two systems head to head, the 360 wins in almost any category. Controller? 360. Graphics? So far most games coming out for both have looked slightly better on the 360. Although to be honest, I wouldn't buy one over the other...

There were problems with the 2005 manufactured 360's, sure. They're absolutely fine now. I know several people with 360's, and no problems. With the PS3 getting hot enough to fry an egg, I'm not so sure that the Xbox 360 is the least stable of the two systems.

Well anyway, I'm glad that GOW is staying right where it is. Now, if only they can clear up that nasty rumor about Resident Evil 5 being a PS3 exclusive. I'm sure it won't be. After Lost Planet and Dead Rising, Ca...

Is huntersville the famous "PS3 Defense Secretary"? He must be, because he's used the oh so clever "180" insult a thousand times, as well as the Paper Mario analogy.

I think I'm actually starting to feel a little sorry for the PS3 owners. It's a nice, shiny, powerful system, with such a little amount of great games. Most of the great ones on PS3 have already appeared on the 360. Not only that, but the 360 versions have been a little better, for the most p...
