The article is consistent with others, claiming that the 360 had a large failure rate closer to launch, but that the problem is becoming less and less. I know many people with 360's including myself. There were a couple of problems with launch consoles, but my friends who bought consoles a few months after it came out have been fine. Most people are very satisfied with their 360's. The hardware is good, and the software is unmatched.

Once again, Microsoft doesn't manufacture ...

How is Microsoft the greediest company on the planet? Do you honestly think Sony or any other company cares about any individual? EVERYTHING that companies do boils down to the almighty dollar. When companies donate to charity, unless they do it quietly, they are looking for publicity in the hopes that more people would want to do business with them.

Whether it's Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, Pepsi, Coke, Chevy, Ford, Honda, whatever...we're just a bunch of walking dollar signs ...

Does that mean that Sony TV's are nice and shiny, but only run a bunch of lackluster, mediocre Japanese TV shows? And when you saw advertisements for Sony TV's, did they promise a much better picture than it actually has?

Well said Kewlkat007. Microsoft is the king of the mountain, so of course people are going to have something against them. I love Microsoft. The only thing that I have against them is that they tend to rush out products. If you wait awhile though, they improve upon the products. I'm referring to Vista, not the 360. The 360 was carefully planned out. All of the launch systems that broke down should be blamed on the manufacturers, not Microsoft.

If you read the last paragraph of ...

I can't wait for Bomberman! It's going to be the best and most addictive Live Arcade game since Uno!

My 360 purrs as well, and is very reliable. I don't worry at all that it will break. It runs at a relatively cool temperature (much cooler than your PS3 I'm sure) and the games run very well on it too.

What's sad is that there are apparently a few people left who think that the PS3 is going to be the best just because Sony has had the most popular consoles the last two generations. PS3 has become a system of empty promises. Notice how games were downgraded between E3's. Ther...

"So many great games, so little time", says the 360 owner.

"Such a shiny system, but no friggin' games", says the PS3 owner.

Numbers don't lie. On Gamespot.com, the 360 has more game rated 8.0 or greater than the PS3 has games, period.

Intelligent gamers own 360s.

It may be higher than 5%, but I doubt that it's in the double digits. Everyone I know who has a 360 including myself has a perfectly functioning system.

It truly is a vocal minority and fangirls who don't own a 360 anyway who are making all of the noise. It may or may not be higher than the 3-5%. We have no way of knowing unless we work for Microsoft. I've even heard ludicrous figures such as a 60% defect rate. Strangely, everyone I know has who has a 360 is happy with the quality of their system.

If everyone's system is breaking down, then why does the 360 sell more games than any other console right now? If my 360 kept brea...

Newsflash, retard...both Sony and Microsoft only give a crap about the almighty dollar. Why do you think PS3 fans are forced to pay for a BluRay player? So that it leads to more money for Sony. Sony even admitted that they may eventually charge for PlayStation Network, or whatever it's called. Do you really think that Sony or any company CARES about you? C'mon. Microsoft is the same way, but at least they've been supplying a steady stream of great games.

Choosing between Son...

That's cool, but playing it on your PS3 won't raise your gamerscore!

...then you are doing something to abuse the system. My 360 actually runs somewhat cool. I keep mine where plenty of air can get to it, and I keep the power supply where it can get plenty of air as well (not on a carpet).

Back in the early days of the 360, I went into a GameStop. The person behind the counter and I were talking, and he let me touch the power brick of the 360 that was next to the counter. It was extremely hot. Then again, it was surrounded by plastic casing tha...

Microsoft isn't putting this product out. Microsoft is not trying to copy Sony. If they were, they would've released the 360 followed by 8 months of no good exclusives.

6940d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

If the 360 was in PS3's position and severely lacking AAA titles, then this would sting. However, with all of the huge games coming out to compliment the already unmatched 360 game library, it's not that big of a deal. Especially since it's a timed exclusive. 360 owners can play it eventually. Until then, we'll be busy with a ton of other great games.
Assuming the rumor is true, of course.

Edit: I left my original "graphic" up long enough. I am indeed changing it in case any kids get on this page. Damn conscience.

We live in a society where you have to apologize if something offends somebody, no matter how ridiculous, and often times it doesn't do any good anyway. Look at what happened to Don Imus. His "nappy headed hos" comment was tame compared to what those girls listen to on their Ipod's everyday, guaranteed. Plus, it was funny.

The media and politicians make me sick. It's ok to show dead bodies lying on the side of a road in Baghdad, but God forbid, don't show a boobie. O...

I wouldn't be surprised to see Sony make some sort of an announcement regarding the PS3 if sales don't increase by the beginning of 2008.

6942d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Don't know if this is true or not, but there is about a 110% chance of a sequel being released somewhere down the line due to the success of the first one.

All 3 will definitely get better. The 360 already has. There were a high number of launch consoles that were faulty, but 2006 and up should be fine. My brother had a launch system that died after a few months. It was replaced free of charge, and it works great. Mine works great, as do the 360's of all my friends. If you're looking to buy a 360, you have nothing to worry about, especially with the one year warranty. Just make sure it's well ventilated and that you don't move the console whi...

...is make a new version of the PS3, minus the BluRay player. It will cheapen the production cost, lower the price, and get more PS3's into homes. However, they would have to put their games on regular DVD disks instead of BluRay discs. This could confuse the average consumer.

The main motive for the PS3 could be to get BluRay into homes rather than maintain the #1 position in gaming. If they have the winning DVD format, that could be more profitable than having the #1 console...
