I'd like to point out that the only substantial difference between the two XBO versions is the Pixel count!!
Does this mean we finally have the definitive answer in the question "can anyone really tell the difference?".???
I'm disappointed that it's not like the original APB. A top down open city on Amiga/C64 where you play a patrolman who drives around the city receiving calls to respond to various crimes.
I've always wanted a proper update of that game, one where you play as the police and have to catch thieves/solve crimes in a dynamic city scenario. Some games have come close but none have hit the spot as far as I'm concerned.
@Eonjay
Any brand new console release would expect to garner at least one title in the top 20. I thought there was supposed to be a big expectation for TitanFall to do well.
DC = 100% Realism
FH2 = 100% Cartoon graphics
I'm sorry but realism is a lot trickier to pull off than 'Hotwheels in Toy Town'.
What DC is doing at 30f/s is far more impressive than what FH2 is doing.
Yeah, there's an ongoing exodus to Canada regarding the UK development community. Canada decided to create a strong games industry by offering tax breaks and other incentives, hopefully this may go some way to address the situation.
@OrangeCrush
America has a reputation for making poor quality/overpriced products, of course a tech-savvy nation like Japan avoids buying them.
It's not that fresh, Apache Gunship on the C64 had procedurally generated mission maps way back in the mid eighties.
What it adds is a huge amount of replay value. Imagine you play a flight sim
that you really enjoy and love the gameplay, normally you play the missions and wait a year or two for the sequel. You may return to the game now and then for a quick blast but it's not the same as you've finished the game already.
Now think about the same ...
So the two reasons the author states as being detrimental to the two-player experience are being able to see the other players movements and the annoyance of a smaller screen, and according to him the solution is to give one player an even smaller (tiny) screen whilst the other gets 64".
So it's better to have a two player game where one player has a huge advantage over the other?
Lol @ disagrees, it's not even an opinion, it WOULD make a great free PS+ title. The only people who could possibly disagree would be R* and jealous/bitter Xbox One owners.
It would also make a great free game on gold btw.
@badboyz09
I wanted the game very much but decided to wait for the PS4 version (I thought it would be available earlier mind you). I still haven't played the game as I want a fresh experience when I do.
Except the alpha was only available on PS4. I think that was the implied logic (although now you would also require a time machine as the trial finished weeks ago).
It's a fair comment, the trial was really good fun and only available on the PS4. I'm pretty sure Xbox owners would agree if they had played the alpha build. It was truly impressive.
So was I, have you ever tried fighting a Viper around a racetrack? they go where they want to go, ( you're a passenger in the driving seat), meanwhile the car lightens itself as pieces fall off of it for no apparent reason (speaking from experience).
Muscle cars don't do corners, most still use leaf-spring suspension (as used on horse-drawn carts). They focus purely on power and handle like turds.
I'm not saying they wouldn't be cool in the game (hurtling uncontrollably around a gentle bend can be fun when your life isn't at risk), but they have limited appeal outside of the US (and their long straight roads), so they don't tend to appear on the radar of non-Americans.
Truth is he's having plastic surgery to create a new identity, so he can slip out the back door without being noticed! (an unnamed insider told me)!!!
Get well soon John Smith, er I mean Mr Iwata!
Cinemaware games were great, way ahead of their time graphically. Wings, Rocket Ranger, Defender of the Crown. US Gold used to be one of the biggest names in the business, what happened to them?
"But I always wondered that"??? Wondered *IF*, moron.
@Gamer1982
Speak for yourself, I only game on PS4 now (occasionally PC), and I've really enjoyed the Indies we get free. Not too fussed about big titles as they mostly disappoint.
I'm an old-school c64/Amiga man so games like Mercenary Kings are a dream come true to me.
To use a spoonerism, you sir are a cupid stunt.
"Nintendo is for everyone".......
NO IT ISN'T!
