I find it a little strange as it seems more of a niche title than a blockbuster from what I've seen. It looks ok but it's certainly no big new IP.
Having said that, there's a whiff of TimeSplitters about this game so it may prove to be better than I expect it to be.
"Its going to take a boatload of great DLC and modes to convince gamers to come back and try it again."
Gamers seem more than happy with the game, it seems that its only the review sites that don't enjoy the game.
Saying that, I think its a hard game to review. Amazing graphics, addictive gameplay but with some serious problems. I personally think it will be considered a classic by the time all the updates and changes are implemented. Only time will tell...
If you want true numbers; 1736 owner votes on UK PSN = 4*/5* average.
These are people who PAID for the game, you'd expect them to be upset if it was bad.
There IS NO PS+ VERSION!!! It isn't released yet.
You have been exposed as a troll yet again.
He has only reviewed the single player portion of the game as he couldn't access multiplayer. As the game is designed around the multiplayer aspects of the titular "DriveClub", you would expect lower scores when the aforementioned "Club" is inaccessible.
This review is therefore a review of "Drive", we should soon be getting a review of "Club" (fingers crossed), it will be only after this moment has passed that we will be able to fo...
My money's on it being a new O/S coming with the 2.0 software update.
[I'm aware its not as sexy as some other suggestions, but I think its the most likely option]
@drpepperdude
You can't comment about GT without being prepared to get ripped apart if your comment can be misconstrued in any way possible.
I love the series and own most of the games released since the original, but when I said that I was disappointed by the lack of any real sense of speed in GT 5 prelude I received pages of abuse on sites (even death threats).
I had to argue till I was blue in the face that speed was actually important in a racing game ...
If people don't have an XB1, they aren't likely to agree with the comment "I'm getting it on my Xbox1", hence the disagrees. There's no conspiracy about it.
@PCBOX
I have reported your PM to the mods. I don't have a clue why you sent me such an offensive message.
ESRAM is a compromise, not an ingenious solution (as MS would have you believe). Devs have been screaming for unified memory for years.
MS made their memory architecture decisions earlier than Sony when GDDR5 stock levels and availability was unknown. ESRAM was introduced as a gateway between the two memory pools to try to alleviate the bottleneck.
If the ESRAM was 4x its current size, it would be possible to use it for all manner of purposes, as it stands it can bar...
@PCBOX
Aren't you a naughty box-troll. Your pseudo knowledge of PC architecture is outstanding.
XBOX owner by any chance?
You're right, the older I get the more I see it in myself. It's not something you are aware of without really searching for it.
Keep open minded !!!
As in they drive like real racing drivers? If so I agree with you, ever seen the Monaco Grand Prix?
@blackout
You seem to be very well equipped to "see what's going on" as you seemingly have "half a brain".
Why would they release the free version of a game (available to 11,000,000+ PlayStation owners) when those who bought the retail version (far fewer) can't even access the game properly?
@Daz
LOL
" Editor's Note: Don't you think its high time now that [THE]fan war should stop, [comma?]arguing and fighting on these pity[PETTY] issue[S]. This current-gen gaming has *evolved in[A] reverse direction* [use "DEVOLVED"], nowadays gameplay *is not much important* [does not make sense- try "is not AS important" or alternatively "is not OF AS much importanCE"], it's about which game runs at [A]higher resolution, pi...
@Travisbitter
I personally took that as meaning they locked it at 900p to stop internal debates between the devs who were making it.
Make the game first then worry about resolution rather than have devs arguing about what resources should be used for which purpose.
Now I could be wrong, but that is still a valid interpretation of what was said, so there is room for you to be mistaken (it's not like the statement only has one meaning).
What do.you expect? Console gamers pay £50+ for a copy of a game, PC gamers always say "I'll get it in a steam sale for a fiver".
Would you bother making a decent port for people who are never likely to pay for it?
You can't have it both ways. You want cheap, bargain software at a fraction of the retail price AND you want devs to bend over backwards to give it to you in the most appetizing form available.

Sony's Z phones are top-notch anyway, now you can play PS4 on them :-)
To be honest my favorite games of each generation don't tend to be blockbusters, it isn't a complaint about the game.
It just seems there's a lot of advertising money being pumped into this title whilst other seemingly bigger titles get overlooked/ under-advertised.
I could be wrong, it looks like a sound enough game, I can't see it selling consoles though.
