I'm always excited about a new Final Fantasy as it's my favourite series and I think the story will be headed in a good direction. I know graphics don't make a game but did anyone else feel underwhelmed by them? FF is known for being at the forefront of graphics but yet a new entry on a brand new console looks worse than FFXV graphically. The character models seemed frankly quite poor.
The difference is PS has plenty of other games to rely on coming out, Xbox doesn't have a single one. Your absolute mainstay Halo isn't out anywhere near launch, thats inexcusable. We can talk about God of War because it wasn't expected in 2021. Halo was touted as a launch game.
You're talking rubbish. It isn't the fact they are charging you 100 for a bluray drive it's the fact they are enabling you to get the console without it much cheaper. And the specs aren't the same? The Xbox is slightly more powerful and the PS5 has a much better SSD and a new innovative controller. That's why it's the same price

The point is they don't compete with PC, they compete with Xbox and getting the console rights to FFXVI does just that.

I must say locking demos behind actually buying the game is frustrating and bad practice. First Tony Hawk and now this. At least make it a little better and give demo codes to those who preorder physical too.
So excited for this tomorrow. Fantastic reviews, looks beautiful and no microtransactions. Actually earn your unlocks. Hopefully there's some more secret stuff they haven't revealed. If it sells well (which it should) I hope they remake later games too.

I know it needs other parts. My point was you're basically able to get double the performance now for the same price. The consoles will sell at a loss, a slightly scaled down version would have been doable next year, especially as we are talking about a console not a full PC build
Honestly seeing this makes me wish a little bit that the next gen (console) would have been next year, it's such a massive increase for the price point. Given the 3070 is 499 they could easily have put a similar one into the next gen consoles in a year, and be leaps and bounds above the specs now.
This is the game I've seen show off the most of the SSD speed with the warping into worlds. Interested to see more
I guess it really depends on the PS5 price. As it stands it seems like they're in a lot of trouble as it is with having no exclusives for it day one (and for a long time). Giving Sony any room to have a lower price too would be a catastrophe.
Honestly with the speed games will be able to be downloaded I'm not too worried about expansions. I imagine it should take minutes to download a game?
