I like it, but where the hell in my house would I put it?
VR has that WOW factor that surprises people, there is so much more to VR than gaming, when it arrives it's here to stay.
10 years from now it will be much more refined and everyone will know about VR.
Azz what are you on about? you were never in.
Totally missed his point sammarshall, you really have no idea.
bennissimo, your comment loses all credence as soon as you compare it to kinect, all you have proved is you have no idea about what VR is.
I have no doubt VR is here to stay, these are the first early steps for VR, but it will grow into so much more and be utilised in many areas outside of gaming, medicine, education, film, etc
Those dismissing VR really don't see or understand it's potential.
How do you do that by mistake?
And people still say sales don't matter,
I work at a school and last gen it was all 360 with the kids, now it's all PS4, sum's it up really.
MS dropped the ball, leaving gamers with a confusing message, they already had gamers up in arms about DRM and added salt to the wound by charging a $100 for less power than the competition.
It is hard to imagine that people were being paid for the ridiculous decisions being made, those in charge seemed too focused on pushing their own agenda's and lost sight of what gamers actually wanted.
There were plenty of warnings even before the launch of xone, but...
VR will happen and when it does it will rapidly evolve into a more and more consumer friendly product, almost to a man people have been wowed by VR and it's potential, not just in gaming means it will be around for a very long time.
I cant wait not just for the launch of VR, but seeing how it develops in the years to come.
Sorry Florida, If you're calling VR a Fad that will last 4 years, then I really don't think you understand VR
It is here to stay and will only grow.
This is the thing many naysayers miss, VR is more than just games, the tech going forward has huge potential and it's good to know Sony see it too,
Movies are another area that VR could have a huge impact (one of many)
Virtual movies, it will happen, maybe not this gen but it will happen.
There are many reasons to be excited by VR
Florida, games are just part of VR's potential, whether it's PSVR, Vive, or any other VR device, once out of the bag VR is here to stay.
It might take a while to become mainstream, but be in no doubt this is just the beginning for VR.
Brisco proving BlueOnBlue's point perfectly.
Sad really.
Yes a lot of naysayers seem to have little idea of the impact VR has, there is a reason Sony and other major companies are launching VR devices, yet some still seem to fall into the trap of comparing it to 3D TV or Kinect.
VR offers far and away a much better experience and is something gamers will be willing to put a Visor on for.
But VR will go far beyond gaming, anyone thinking VR is just a fad have little idea what VR is or it's potential in the futur...
Charge is not the issue, latency is, Speed is essential for VR, Wireless is simply not fast enough.
An interesting read, the lessons being learned now by developers could be much sought after in the future, if VR takes off the way I think it will.
I don't know why you mention 3d TV, it isn't required, if you are attempting to use it as some sort of benchmark for adoption then it is equally flawed, VR has an impact 3d tv can only dream of.
I have no doubt VR will take off, once the genie is out of the bottle there will be no putting it back, it will evolve over time to encompass alsorts of media with it becoming more powerful and user friendly.
Those thinking VR will disapear really have no idea what it offers or it's potential.
