yet he recommends PSVR in the end, not saying he is right, just that every VR headset has it's plusses and minuses
you could just buy a PC Messiah.
Obviously not lelo, the PS4 performs better, has great first party support and last but not least, an easy way into VR.
The fact the PS4 is outselling the xone by a million in what was once one of it's strongest regions suggests gamers have decided the PS4 is the way to go this gen.
As the article suggest's this should be considered more than a peripheral, VR is the future and for more than just gaming.
So you would build a gaming PC, fair enough, me I would choose VR without hesitation, but then I want something new and exciting to sink my teeth (or should I say eyes) into.
I think the article is making the statement that this is something more than a new gaming peripheral, it is a new gaming experience.
I totally agree, anyone comparing VR to 3D tv, Kinect or motion controls obviously don't understand what VR is and what it will offer in the future, I have to laugh at all the people thinking it will be some kind of fad, VR will be around for a long time and will only grow,
PSVR is the start of something big happening and th...
Hyperx cloud seem to offer the best value, I would be ordering them now but from what I understand plugging them into the controller only gives you stereo sound, for VR it has to be surround sound.
I think I will hold off a while longer and see what happens, as you say Sony may be cooking up something, it's a shame because I'm really liking the sound (excuse the pun) of Hyperx
it's a fair point you make DarXyde, there is no rush this is perely for PSVR and I too have wondered if they will release a headphone set specifically to use with it.
I will look more into HyperX but the Golds have generally been well received, To be fair that is true of Hyper X, I wish I could wear them first as comfort is important and Hyper x seems to win that little battle.
How easy are the Hyperx to set up? with the PS4?
Thanks for that PSG4MER
Yeah the wireless would be great with VR and I like the hidden mic, the sound and comfort seem to be better with the HyperX, ummm decisions, decisions.
Yes they do come across very well, the only real negatives to them seem to be they are not the wireless kind and some are critical of the mic, which doesn't bother me so much.
The plusses are great sound and great at blocking out outside sounds, comfort is great (which is important)
Thanks for your input DarXyde and taking the time to offer your thoughts .helpful bubble
I have a feeling it will be between HyperX or the Sony Gold, anyone g...
For me it's easy, I don't own a PC, I do own a PS4 and the camera and two Move controllers, this is the first stage for VR and PSVR will be perfect for getting my VR feet wet.
LOL
If you have been following it, you would realise the opportunities it offers and the huge amount of money being spent on it's development, not just by Sony but pretty much all the big names in tech.
Anylysts are predicting a business worth a 100 billion in 5 to ten years, this tech is not just about gaming it is so much more, you will realise soon enough.
Thanks for the tip level 360, I'll look into them.
I must add they are for PSVR so I need them to work well with the PS4 (I dont want to be messing around with loads of settings)
VR will not fail no matter how much the haters may want it to, there are too many avenues and possibilities for VR and it has a WOW factor that grabs and keeps peoples attention.
The VR industry is going to be massive and the experience will only improve, ten years from now the people thinking it will fade will be eating a lot of humble pie.
I have been looking into headsets with VR in mind, I own a cheap pair, I don't use, they are uncomfortable and annoying.
VR I want the immersion and have been looking into the best for the job, I'm leaning towards the Hyper X, anyone else have an opinion?
I must admit the Playstation Gold look a great option too.
There are still many people who know about VR, but just imagine it as some sort of 360 flat screen, the reality is very different, you won't really get VR till you try it.
I must point out I haven't tried it, but have followed it closely, seeing peoples reactions and responses, with a little imagination I have some idea, Just waiting for october, to see it for myself
VR will go mainstream with or without PSVR, it's inevitable. PSVR allows it to get there sooner, but VR will be around for a long time, anyone who thinks it a fad, really don't understand the Potential VR has, in alsorts of media, not just gaming.
Artemidorus, I have the things required I dont want them again, it can be used in theatre mode without the camera, if you want VR the camera is needed too and I'm sure that will be made clear.
Whats so complicated?
The article itself is a lot of nothing, but there is a vote on which VR device you are most looking forward to, no surprise to see PSVR top, but Oculus behind VIve surprised me.
Clicked on it again and can't see it now, oh well still surprised me.
Yet he recommends PSVR in the end, obviously someone who has actually used all the headsets thinks it does.
I think because of the this, his opinion carries a lot more weight, I value his thoughts more than your's fro, sorry.
