I think even the sceptics are strating to realise VR is here to stay, next year will see the start of the revolution and from it's early beginnings will become much more than anyone can imagine now.
I'm stepping in and can't wait to see what it's experiences evolve into, the possibilities are endless.
It is good to see the PS4 picking up momentum in Japan, looking forward to the unique gaming experiences that their developers always seem to come up with
For me VR is a huge reason, knowing that it will be available on the PS4 has be a big plus.
Matpan, i'm sorry if you are somehow offended, I added the day one part after typing the first bit as I wanted to point out that I will be jumping straight into VR, and yes I'm excited.
No the word new wasn't needed in the end, but hardly a reason to shoot me down bud.
Thats a lot of games, Looks like I will have plenty of options for my new PSVR when I buy it day 1.
Gangsta, you're really not getting what VR is all about if you think it will be no different to the way we play games now, VR immerses you into the game taking you into a world your brain has trouble escaping.
I know you are one of the VR doubters and you think VR is just a fad, trust me VR is here to stay and will only get better over time.
Day 1
SIGH****
BeefCurtains it also goes onto say
On balance PS4"s performance profile is in better shape overall, it has nothing close to the stuttering we see on xone and a better framerate in big towns and cities as well.
Shame you didnt see fit to quote that too.
Thats the power of VR, if it were just on a normal TV it she wouldn't have batted an eyelid, VR transports you into a different world.
S2Killinit, I agree games are just the tip of the iceberg, Films (books cracking idea) sport, education, medicine all have potential to benefit from VR, it will evolve over time to encompass all sorts of areas, VR is the future, it will be exciting to see it evolves over the years.
One thing I'm sure of VR is here to stay.
dcbronco, what you are missing is the fact the PS3 was the more powerful console, but incredibly difficult to master, hence it was right to question a developers ability to get the most out of the system.
The xone may not be as easy to program as the PS4, but it is hardly an unknown like the PS3 was, and without the advantage the PS3 had of better hardware the xone has little in it's favour.
Reality starting to hit home for all those people who thought DX12 was somehow going to make up the difference in hardware between consoles.
Sure software will only improve, but that is true for both systems, hardware is fixed, the advantage will always be with Sony, at least this gen.
VR is no gimmick, some people just don't understand that yet
Optimus comparing VR to 3D TV shows how little you understand VR, 3D didnt take off because what it offered wasn't that great, VR is very different and has potential afr beyond gaming, this is the start of a revolution and it will only grow.
The only question for me is how much of the market Sony can take?
It makes me laugh all the people who imagine VR is just going to disappear, Major companies are investing a lot of money in VR and they are doing it for a reason, VR has a big future.
It goes way beyond gaming and has an impact few techs can match.
How much of the VR market PSVR can take remains to be seen, but it has advatages over other companies and only a fool would right it off.
The hype is real
As for anyone comparing V...
I have never heard of this device coming to anything other than PS4, of course there is always the option of bringing it to PC later but for now PS4 only.
It certainly is 3D each eye is given it's own seperate image, don't imagine this is the same 3D you get with TV, it is far more impressive and goes a long way to making the world real.
People who compare this to 3D TV really have no idea what they are talking about.
VR really is set to revolutionise gaming, it's been a while coming but it looks set to be a real game changer.
Early days but VR will reach far deeper than just gaming.
Sony are known for their quality, they have so much experience in electronics you know you can trust their VR solution to perform and be the best it can be.
It really is quite an achievement to compete in the VR arena, bringing a more than capable VR solution to console.
Looking forward to enjoying what their hard work has achieved
Timesplitter as I tried to point out this is just the beginning, VR has a long way to go but it will only grow and improve over time.
Basically all I'm saying is VR is here to stay and will impact far more than just gaming.
