I hope they don't add too much stuff from the Compilation. Many of the additions to the FF7 lore haven't been all that good (especially the stuff from Dirge of Cerberus) or have outright changed major aspects of the original FF7 story.
For example, Genesis being the person who tips Sephiroth over the edge of sanity during the Nibelheim incident. It's an unnecessary change that shoehorns a pointless character into a classic scene.
Yeah I really like the attention to detail in the minor characters. You can see what sort of life they lead just from the scars on their faces, the sun spots on their skin, or their patchy clothes. It's a shame more games don't go to so much effort with their minor characters.
I dont know if this counts as an apartment since it was basically the top floor of the bar, but i really like Laguna and Raine's house from Final Fantasy 8
What a terrible looking mobile game. Oh Square, how far you have fallen....
Such an underrated gem.
I thought it was a pretty realistic depiction of someone who really believed that what they have been taught is the truth. I don't think his beliefs were meant to be likable. Just realistic. Some people really are that overzealous and will use their religion to justify their behavior, even if that behavior is obviously bigoted or hypocritical.
FFX SPOILERS:
The only thing I didn't like was how quickly he got over his religious beliefs once cracks star...
Good!
How so? He had more of an identity and relevance to the plot than many of the final bosses on this list (e.g. Cloud of Darkness, Necron, Yu Yevon, Ultimecia, etc)
SeeD, SeeD, SeeD.
While this article is pretty silly, it's equally silly to assume that video games are not influenced by real life at all, or that all games are intended to be dumb fun that isn't supposed to make you think.
Plenty of games (and books, movies, TV shows etc) reflect the reality of politics, society, media, war, general attitudes, morality, humanity, etc. If a person has fun exploring a game's themes, subtext, and its influence from reality, then what is wrong with t...
Nobody will convince me blowing into a cartridge doesn't work.
If mobile gaming is the future of gaming, then I guess I wont be a gamer for much longer. Far too many great series (mostly JRPG series) have already moved to mobile that its starting to become a worry.
I live in a uni dorm with an extremely slow internet connection that makes it impossible to play games online. Guess there will be no NFS for me :-(
Sorry you have such bad taste.
I like to think that wasn't a mistranslation, and that Aerith just sometimes has trouble with grammar. Its more fun that way.
I will never understand what the localization team was thinking when they cast Tidus' English voice. His high-pitched whine doesn't exactly scream "17 year old star player of a sports team".
I agree. I really loved Yuna's old face. It was so expressive and the detail was great (particularly in her eyes, eyelids, and eyebrows). All of FFX's character models were really impressive for a PS2 game.
But Yuna's new character model makes her look a bit too much like a generic anime girl with overly big eyes that are really dead and expressionless. It's a disappointing change, especially during emotional or serious scenes because the new character models...
It's sad that game devs can't even include female characters in their games anymore without some unknown game journalist criticizing them for having a seedy agenda or trying to appeal to feminists.
Am I the only one who misses the old faces? The new ones seem more cartoony and have less expression.
The original FF7 wasn't turn based to begin with. It used the ATB system.
