The site is lame.. not because of 't3h bias!', but because you can't even navigate the f*cking site. Did a middle school student design it?
If Halo 3 was $60 and a complete new experience (new SP, MP, etc...), why is ODST the same price when only half of the experience is new? If the SP and a firefight mode are worth $60 dollars now, will Reach be worth $120?
If you're happy to pay that, then that's great... but you have to understand why people who like Halo but aren't obsessed with it might be upset with the price point.
"However, There is nothing in ODST that was in Halo 3."
Um, yes there is... it's called the multiplayer. It's the most played part of a game, and apparently Halo fans think it's worthless since they're willing to spend the same price on a short SP and firefight as they did on Halo 3 with a fresh MP.
Bottom line, ODST is worth it if you don't have Halo 3. But if you do, it's a ripoff. If they released a version of ODST without the repackaged MP for $30, 90% ...
Can't people in the US just make a Euro account and buy it?
If Halo:ODST is a full Halo game, what is Halo Reach going to be? 1.5 games?
Anyone who likes Halo enough to want the beta will probably be interested in ODST. I'm interested in the it, but no way in hell am I spending $60 on it.
The only additional sales I think MS are going to get are people who really like Halo and want to play the beta, but were planning on renting ODST or buying it used since it's such a rip-off.
"And funnily enough Crackdown 2 coming out next year..."
lol, never thought of that. I'd like to play the beta, but I'm not going to spend $60 on it. I'll be getting Crackdown 2 day one, so hopefully they'll include another beta in it =D
Doesn't the game come out in less than a week? Why is there an embargo until Sunday?
Why isn't the embargo lifted until 2 days before it comes out?
He's saying good sales don't automatically make it a good game. It's funny that you bring up GT, because GT5P wasn't $60 even though it has more content than ODST... and reviewers still said there wasn't enough content. Why should ODST get a free pass by reviewers when it costs twice as much?
We'll see if real reviewers agree with this guy, but ODST would need to have one HELL of a good 4-5 hour campaign to justify the $60 price point, considering that and horde mode are all tha...
Yeah, I'm disappointed with the 360 fanboys. In the back of my mind I thought they were a bit more mature, but clearly that's not true.
Now I kinda feel bad that this will be their biggest "game" this year. At least there's some great multiplats coming out. Next year will be great for 360 owners, though.
hahaha.... I remember how harsh 360 fanboys were when PS3 fanboys accused sites of being "no name blogs". Now the tables have turned, I guess.
This is what happens when you let MS ream you and charge you twice as much as they should for an expansion pack. If ODST was priced correctly ($30 dollars max), it would probably get good review scores... but we'll see how it goes.
ISA would... their AI is better =)
Get ready for games utilizing a $100 plastic sledgehammer add-on.
He didn't say "you get more bang for your buck only when it comes to gaming"... you made that distinction.
And just because you don't want to use the blu-ray drive doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Technically, his statement is correct... you do get more from the PS3 than the 360 for the price. The fact that you're trying (so desperately) to twist it set off my fanboy detector... checking comments... yep, fanboy confirmed.
EDIT: And since I don't use x-game ch...
Wow, he spent 14 hours on it and didn't finish? How long is the game?
It certainly was slow.
Then what do you call all the "Halo: ODST is worth $60" articles? I recall seeing more of those than "ODST isn't worth $60" articles.
If a short campaign and co-op mode are $60, how much will Reach be with a longer campaign, new MP, and most likely co-op? If this came out in the middle of the year during a dry spell, I might've checked it out... but there's way too many games coming in the next few months. Doesn't matter, though... ODST will sell way more than...
MS won't make any money off the game on Windows, I don't know why people keep saying that. And a killer app is something that pushes you to get a piece of hardware or software. Nobody's going to think "OMG, I need to get Windows so I can play The Secret World!"
Anyways, I doubt we'll be seeing this on consoles, just like Funcom's last MMO (Age of Conan) that was supposed to come out on 360. I really don't see how it would work, anyways. From what I've read, the action i...
Doesn't matter for most people. If you liked Halo 3 SP and want a co-op mode, you'll pick ODST up no matter what. If you're like me and enjoy the Halo games but aren't obsessed with them, you'll pick it up eventually.... the higher the review score, the sooner you'll play it.
If you don't have a 360, you shouldn't really care (unless you're looking to get one, but honestly if you don't have one now I doubt you're interested in Halo)
