I own one; it won't outsell the PS2. The PS2 had 0 competition. A solid Japan NX release would slow things down, not to mention XB1 in the U.S. And UK. The original Wii played a big role on 360's success by neutralizing Japan for a while.
Easy money. Minimal citicism since it's a classic. Minimal risk for the company. Year 2 of gen 8 is not that great...
Needs to be a console for adults, more powerful than PS4, Blu Ray (not some other format), and third party support. Not going to happen...
20 FPS is pathetic on any platform. 30 FPS is the absolute minimum, and that's a low bar.
Wait a few months and get it on Steam (at a discount). Problem solved!
Traded in my 360 with games and some accessories I wasn't using and got an XB1 for $140. For some, it does make sense to trade in. It's a bussiness like any other.
Let the hype begin! How about a new game?
Sony's waiting too long to bring out the big guns. Another remaster? All we need now is a GT6 remaster...
It's 2015. No more remasters.
That's why I like what Turn10 does on XB. In the time GT7 comes out, they'll have 4 games out, and all AAA. GT6 was great, but the wait was not worth it. I rather play a 95% awesome game than wait 3 years for the 100% perfect game.
These DC threads are pathetic. Let it go guys. In terms of Forza (not Horizon), racing sim websites rate it better than GT. That's a fact. These aren't kids without driver's licenses talking about realism while using a gaming pad, like many do. These are the same guys that "race" with thousand dollar setups, etc. So no, DC has nothing on Forza. DC looks pretty, yes, but the tracks are fake, and it runs at 30 FPS. The cars would look even better at 15 FPS, no? While we wa...
DC has the best looking 30fps fake tracks in the industry! Racing simulator vs shinny visuals...
last gen (360 vs PS3), these debates were interesting because Sony overpromissed and, with some exceptions, games ended up performing better on 360. MS was the console underdog, and everyone likes one. This gen, the debate is silly. The hardware basically designed by the same company, and one is significantly better. Not an opinion: PS4 is spec-wise MUCH better. It's like comparing Camaros to Vettes. Both are fast and can be fun. You can always modify a Camaro to catch up but...you can mo...
He's been overrated for at least a decade.
It's easier to make things look better on fake tracks and 30 FPS. With fake tracks the developer has more flexibility on how to manage system resources; they can skip placing a booth, crowds or trees if it hits performance. Everyone knows what Laguna Seca looks like; Project CARS tracks are laser scanned. Simply a way higher standard. Not to say DC doesn't look great, but completely different games.
Come'on; March and still getting "DC's good" reviews? No it wasn't; playing other games. Move on. Stop bringing up the game. It's over.
Got my PS4 in 2013. So far it has been a fantastic media/ BR player. Way better gaming content on Steam...
Sorry but when a "racing game" has fake tracks (at 30 FPS), true racing fans say, no thanks. 60 FPS (or better) is the racing standard. DC belongs in the Need for Speed category; yes, you can have fun. But it's apples to oranges...It's like Ace Combat vs Flight Sim. Yes, Ace looks better, but...it's fake. I've been around these sites for a while to know that if Project CARS had been a PS4 exclussive, we would be bragging about its greatness. Since it's not, we...
Please PS4 fans; I'm on your team. But this Driveclub nonsense has to stop. 30 FPS on fake tracks. Yes it looks good; but if the tracks are fake the standard is lower. Developers can't remove objects, etc. from tracks if they are real. Everyone knows what Nurburgring looks like. Sims must be as close to the real thing as possible; hence, laser scanning. If the tracks are fake, they can remove buildings, reposition trees, bridges, crowds, etc. so that the GPU can handle it. They can ad...
Why spend time on an "meh" single player campaign just to say it has one? Why focus resources on an 5-10 hours of single player (that most won't play) vs the 200 hours of multiplayer experience? There are thousands of single player games available. This game is not one of them.
