The only thing I'm worried about is that Jens Andersson isn't with Starbreeze anymore. The game still looks awesome, but when one of the big guys leaves a company the first game without them is always a little iffy before I can actually try it.
I shudder at the thought of more than one Tim running amok in our world.
I always enjoy reading stuff like this as opposed to the usual Top 10 list or rushed rewritten press release. We need more thought provoking articles!
I've been torn between liking games with the oddball achievements, and ones where achievements are gotten by just straight up playing through the game, no trickery or extra effort required. As I start working more and stuff, though, I think I prefer the ones where playing the game and beating it will unlock most of the achievements.
Ones like "Kill 1000 X online!" or "Win X multiplayer matches!" are all fun and good, but I'm never going to get those :(
I'm more interested in whether or not something specifically caused this to happen, or if it was just a fluke occurrence.
I've heard a lot of people say that the economic issues would result in more players playing MMOs, but at this point I haven't really seen a jump in numbers yet that would suggest it's true.
If anything, the monthly fee may be putting people off because it seems like more of an investment in one product than simply buying a single game. And many casual gamers who may turn to an MMO instead of buying the next Big Game aren't even fully aware of the free-to-play market.
I'm convinced when they came up with that company name they looked at a picture like the one of him here first.
It's not that games are using myth or history as a backdrop, it's that they're using them and then trying to alter them enough to make them different but familiar. No one has really actually just taken a myth as-written (or told) and gone, "Here's a game!" for it. That would be pretty awesome...
Yeah. The Wii may not be for the "hardcore" gaming crowd, but that's only because core gamers ignored them last gen. The DS has plenty of games for gamers, but a lot of the people complaining almost never touch a handheld.
It may be there for a reason, but it didn't stop Castle Crashers from launching with its problems. And it didn't help when the patch to fix it took so long to come out because it had to pass certification.
Wow! Now that 1UP has posted an article poking fun at UGO's methods, things are obviously going to be okay from now on! /sarcasm
Agreed. I spent the last 3 hours playing this game. I love when you manage to create something, and then can never do it again no matter how hard you try. Makes each experience a new one :)
The pad sounds awesome. Definitely the route I'm going to go, as I can get two of those (one for me, one for my girlfriend) for the price of one stick.
The rumor (which is what was posted that had people up in arms) has been updated. It turns out that the demo will release to "Qore" owners on the 15th (this week), and will be available next week to all 360 and PS3 owners. No expected date for the PC demo yet, though :(
Yeah, it's under most people's radar at the moment, but just watching the trailer makes me think it's going to end up one of the top PSN games of the year, easily.
I agree. Had they not been under so much pressure (and expectation) to make it look as amazing as it does, chances are it wouldn't. For once, hype may have been a POSITIVE thing!
Almost every website and blog I've gone to recently had stories about EGM shutting down, and had nothing but respect and good memories/sadness written about it. Have there even been any "Haha! We won! Take that magazines!" posts anywhere?
Well, other than that it's also specifically about the one game I wanted to see the presentation for. I don't want to load a 30 minute video and then skip around to try and find where Killzone 2's presentation starts.
I remember reading that a while back. Good stuff.
I'm really surprised this game seems to have turned out so well.
