Maybe you forgot but Microsoft was #1 last year.
Just last year Xbox was number one.
Xbox covered games that had been publicly announced or were contractually obligated to release on PlayStation to stay multiplatform. Clearly, this title at the time of acquisition didn't meet either criterion.
lol... It's a binding 10-year deal Sony knows ALL of the details of the 10-year contract. The same contract Microsoft used to expand the availability of the COD franchise to Nintendo systems (pretty sure we all know they are probably talking about the Switch successor). Not something MS would have done if they wanted to restrict access. Microsoft never once said starfield wasn't going exclusive. Microsoft said Minecraft wasn't going exclusive when they bought Mojang and never ...
And Sony fanboys crying like little bitches they can’t compete if Microsoft buys Activision/Blizzard to increase their market share. Can’t thump your chest over market share then get in a pissy rage if Xbox looks at significantly increase their market share percentage for better competition.
Based on what they did with Minecraft… they won’t stop multiplatform. Clearly it’s not only for mobile and no where does it state this is ONLY about mobile… but they biggest thing they want to do is increase their market in mobile which is currently non-existent. They said they are most interested in candy crush as that relates to the mobile business they want to become relevant in. Nowhere did he say they ARE NOT interested in Call of Duty just that they are more interested in what the Cand...
They did with Minecraft. They could have just as easily turned that franchise exclusive… but didn’t including keeping all spin-off Minecraft games Multiplatform as well.
They keep COD Multiplatform like they did Minecraft and make a boat load of cash to help pay for the acquisition over time. There are lots of other Activision games they could turn to for exclusives. They don’t need COD exclusive and cutting into massive sales numbers just don’t make sense given the cost of the acquisition and the deal they just signed with Nintendo.
What numbers are they skewing? Seems like reasonable numbers listed that they would have been able to gather through legitimate sources in preparation for their court hearing.
Why bash it being offered to new gamers? Same day and date release all dlc same day and date… not all people can afford the high-end systems and for them this could be the best option.
@ Jin Sakai,
It's not like purexbox.com is the only review saying Hi-Fi Rush is a Game of the Year contender. Like a host of the following...

"Hi-Fi Rush - A wild GOTY contender appears!"

@Jin_Sakai
So? It's labeled as an opinion article. It would be no different than a PlayStation or Nintendo-focused website saying Sony or Nintendo exclusives are Game of the Year contenders. Are first-party specific websites regardless of the Console they cover not allowed to have an opinion?
Sorry but always online will not prevent me from playing the game. Do I like it personally, No. But does always online have anything to do about how fun a game is? No. I have an extremely stable internet connection so single player always online will not affect me at all.
Doesn't matter. Xbox doesn't even pretend to care about the Xbox Japan community anymore. Sure they got their first Japanese studio by way of Tango (Zenimax Purchase)... This is really great, but zero big collaborations with Japanese developers... Zero investments that matched the Xbox 360 era... With the positive sales increase the Series X/S was having they could have used that as momentum. Instead, we see they decided to yank the rug under the increased Xbox sales in the region....
Right. But Phil Spencer never said anything about that. They are 1p games and in Xbox’s portfolio. MS did fund additional development time delaying both games a significant amount of time to hopefully release more polished titles than they normally do.
Sounds a lot like any Marvel Movie script… just chalk full of sarcasm.
Incorrect... IMO... You can milk an IP but still, make an excellent game while doing it. Halo Infinite just isn't that. I don't personally believe 343i was ever competent, studio to be honest Bonnie Ross was a huge part of the problem and Microsoft enabled her to keep failing and leading her studio down the crapper.
Halo Infinite was a sign that Halo Infinite was in trouble. All these employees crying about losing their job after blowing like $500M on an average game... They were part of the problem.
Damn right when I thought Hall franchise had a chance again.
Phil Spencer said... Games that were publicly announced / Contractually obligated to come out on PlayStation prior to the acquisition would still come out. RedFall doesn't fit in either of those categories. It wasn't publicly announced nor obviously contractually obligated to come out on the PlayStation.
Not sure why everyone thinks MS needs to play nice. It's competition in the corporate world. Dog eat Dog world. Sony has the Lions share of the marketplace...
