I'm sure it will get another hardware shrink and eventually a drop to $99 sometime in the next 3 years before it's retired. And I expect it will easily top 100 million units.
I don't doubt it will go for another 3 years. The 360, I expect it's going to be taken out behind the shed and shot by MS.
And the one game that is 1080p got laughable and glaring visual downgrades from the BS e3 version that was running on a GTX780 and shown off on Jimmy Fallon.
All Activision needs to do is take some of the billions of dollars they've milked out of COD and license a new engine. They can certainly afford it. There's lots of great engines to choose from these days.
They are just riding that investment into the ground.
COD needs to be retired. It's at a tipping point where it's going to descend into shovelware. Get a new engine, come up with a new IP. Do something inventive.

My first reaction to this was one of thinking ID software was no more, and any further doom games would be awful. But really when I think about it more, I have to admit ID hasn't been relevant in gaming for a long time and neither has Carmack. He's brilliant, maybe even one of the greatest programmers ever to live. But he isn't much of a game designer, and never was.
Maybe a good Doom game will actually come out now, who knows. Probably not, but one can hope. ...
It was atrocious when I played it with a flightstick back in September.
Maybe they've worked on it, but at the time joystick control was wobbly and inaccurate as hell.
This game has a big problem. KB + Mouse control absolutely dominates joystick or controller users. The joystick support is beyond awful.
They really need to get this fixed before the PS4 launch, becuase it's cross platform with the PC players. And supports KB + Mouse on the PS4.
I don't think console gamers are going to enjoy getting absolutely raped by mouse users.
While yes, I believe the Xbox problems will be overblown just like the PS4, It's still so damn satisfying to watch the turnabout isn't it?

Ezio was a great main character and that's a lot of what made 2 as good as it was. The engine and gameplay are getting long in the tooth, but thankfully the naval combat adds something new to make it interesting.

I totally didn't know about the HDMI-CEC thing. I had a really old tv up till last month that didn't support anything like that but now I have a Sony W900 so I'm sure it must, but does anyone know if this will work through my receiver? Because I have my PS4 hooked up through an onkyo avx 290. It has something like this cause the TV remote can control the volume on the receiver right now. But I have no idea if this will or how to get this to pass through the receiver to the PS4...
