At £75 ($101), I soon got bored of it, even free roam. All old tracks up to now, can't fault much else, but maybe some of the characters are stupid. It's just not as good as Mario Kart 8, which was a Wii U port on Switch. Went back to Mario Kart 8, World doesn't come close even if you play the Wii U version.
Playing Switch games on Switch 2, nothing much in it graphically. Best to keep your Switch as I did, didn't bother porting over anything Switch to Switch 2. Once the diehards buy a Switch 2, I can see sales flagging due to £75 ($100) for games. Best to wait until it settles down.
From game play vids, it looks boring.
It's funny that Zelda was a Wii U release, ported to the Switch, then Switch 2 for £65. Mario Kart 8 another Wii U port and it still holds up to Mario Kart World.
At this rate, GTA 2047.
GTA 5 released in 2013, GTA 6 release in 2026, a 13 year wait, if that's the case with GTA 7, I'll be in my early 60s, GTA 8, my early 70s. I'm not sure what'll be my last GTA, but the price of launch games now, I think my time is up with gaming.
Another Limited Run game that is limited to purchase. Why not knock out millions of games across all formats for £29.99 and let the gaming world play it? There's other 'limited' companies out there, I'd ban the lot.
Switch and Switch are a different kettle of fish. A sell out at launch by the diehards, strong sales, then the non diehards will be put off by the £75 ($99) games, including the stupid download cards which are topping £65 ($85). Not rocket science to work out how the Switch 2 is going to pan out. The PS5 has sold well, but games at £70, sales have been low. As game sales drop, prices will rise. Sony could knock out all their games for £40 and still make a killing sell...
The money that Nintendo lost on Wii U, they made up for on Switch, but still, the loss is still there. All guns blazing with Switch 2 pricing, suing Genki is a 'we need to make money' exercise. Goes without saying that Switch 2 will sell out at launch, but once it settles down, the masses won't pay it.
Won't be long until PC games are in line with PS and Xbox prices.
Back then, there was Play.com, games going for well under £20. Best to sit back and let games age and pick them up cheaper, but some used games can sell for more. That also pays off waiting for complete editions. It's probably the oldest debate in gaming, the price of games. PS4 games rising to £60 was a shocker. There's definitely a gaming crash coming, yet Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft don't seem to be bothered. They only see £ and $ signs then wonder how it ...
PS4 games went from £50 to £60 to then warrant PS5 games at £70, better to have a £10 price difference than £20 between both formats. It's inevitable PS5 games will rise to £80, so does that mean they'll creep to £90 with PS6 games at £100? I don't know how people can afford games these days and in some cases, they cost more to download. Gaming will go subscription based I'm afraid, the retro market, games will rocket in price.
£70 ($99) at launch, it's a backburner release for me.
£70 top for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 games, £75 tops for Switch 2 games in the UK, that's tipping $99 at the current exchange rate.
UN Squadron, Stunt Race FX, Top Gear 2, Nigel Mansell F1, Rock 'n' Roll Racing, Adam's Family, Super Probotector. Top 3 for me, Mario Kart, Legend of the Mystical Ninja and Mario World. It kills me that the Mega Drive and Super Nintendo generation has gone. Going from a Commodore 64 to a Mega Drive and Super Nintendo, the much higher costs of games, I couldn't play them all.
Games top £75 with tax in the UK, a whopping $99.
Mario Kart World £75 ($99) at launch, add future paid DLC, £100+, that's me out.
Probably same old. Doors that don't open, running out of ammo, typewriter saves, a big house. An open world game is the only way forward.
I'm not sure how old your are, but the big gaming crash from the 1980s is heading our way. The cost of a PS5 Pro indicates how much PS6 will launch for and £75+ games.
My biggest waste of money in gaming was the Xbox Series X. Has sat for a few years, Microsoft forgot to release games. The cost of next gen gaming consoles, I'll be giving the next Xbox a miss.
