Wouldn't surprise me if CAPCOM releases the Resident Evil games on next gen consoles. It's beyond belief how the franchise has been milked. Surprised there's never been a Resident Evil Karts game and a Resident Evil Golf game. Rezzzzzzzzzzzzzident Evil as I call it. The mighty CAPCOM, along with SEGA and NAMCO, lost their ways. After the Dreamcast/PS2 era of console, these Japanese gaming giants died.
Pre orders in the UK are starting at £59.99, usually £49.99 for PS4 and XB1 games, so it’s already started. This has been the case for months, although games already released have gone up in price. Ringfit on the Switch is now £80. Retailers are pushing their luck. Consoles from years ago had games priced at £60+, namely Nintendo 64. Games £50+ have been out there for years, even dating back to the Mega Drive and Super Nintendo days.
For that price, it should've been a Pikmin Collection.
Well, you trot off and pay your £50/$60 and then pray for more overpriced Wii U games.
Nintendo lost a lot of money on the Wii U, plus they ditched the 3DS, only one console to rely on for revenue. I suppose they have to go digging for money. But releasing Wii U games on the Switch for £50 top is a total joke, although Mario Kart 8 was a Wii U port and sells for £50 tops. Exactly the same with Zelda. I'd like to see Mario 3D World, even though I'm not a fan or ports or whatever you call them. Saying that, I've totally given up on sequels to Wave Race,...
A no brainer. There wasn’t much quality on the Wii U, so not many games have been ported over. Somehow, can’t see Mario Kart 9 on Switch. Thought Splatoon would’ve been ported over and more Mario 3D World. Doesn’t look like a new Wave Race, PilotWings or 1080 Snowboarding is going to arrive anytime soon. Too many Nintendo fans are obsessed with old Zelda games. Stunt Race FX 2? A new Wario World game? No, just give us old Zelda games instead. Move on, people.
We’ll never know the ins and outs of what goes on at the top, but SEGA is almost a shadow in gaming. Still, way too long waiting for Shenmue 3, but couldn’t understand how many Yakuza games on PS console, which was a Shenmue clone. Shenmue 1 and 2 should’ve been given in new start on PS2 to progress the series. No Virtua Fighter 6, even sequels to Eternal Champions, Fighters Megamix, Fighting Vipers etc. Crazy Taxi 2 and 3 couldn’t match the first game. Plenty of typical SEGA arcade games...
The Xbox 360 will never be bettered.
Watched it from start to finish, it just didn't have the WOW factor. I'll be holding out for a PS5 at launch, although I still think the Xbox Series X will launch at a higher price. The only Microsoft console I supported was the Xbox 360, which has never been bettered. It's early days, but I think the PS5 will batter Xbox One Series X, more so when VR2 launches. The Xbox One Series X feels like it's going to play second fiddle. It just didn't do anything for me.
But why would you pay into an Xbox One X anyway when next gen is virtually here? Even a PS4 Pro, which sell for around £350? Second-hand prices are sky high. Take a look in Computer Exchange, most consoles with their controllers are hammered. Over the last 6 months or so, the Xbox One X has been full price, although there was an official price drop, but that soon ended during COVID-19 (UK price £430 = $540). Fools with their money.
Well said.
Watching videos before the reviews, there wasn't much to write home about. Strip away the graphics, it was a typical play from the map hacking and slashing game, which has been done many times over. That doesn't bother me. It's not a day one purchase game for me, so will pick it up cheap used. Same with God of War, Gears of War, Uncharted and The Last of Us to name a few. 6 out of 10 is above average. But how many games in the history of gaming have been over scored? Thousa...
It's a decent series, although I didn't take to it on the GameCube. On the Wii U, it was decent. Still, the likes of Wave Race, PiloWings, Stunt Race and Wario World are games I'd like to see on the Switch. Mario Kart 8 being a Wii U port, I won't be holding my breath for Mario Kart 9.
A new Project Gotham Racing would be top of my list, but it'll be another Forza. Or wel....
But why wouldn’t they do that for launch games? They have early adopters by the scruff on the neck.
This debate happens with every console pre launch. PlayStation and Saturn games clocked in at £60 in 1995. In 1996, Nintendo 64 games at £60+. Mega Drive games in 1990/91 £50 tops. Look at inflation, you’re looking at £100+ now. Same old with consoles. The Saturn was £400 with Virtua Fighter, the most l ever paid for a console. Look at the Xbox One X at launch, it was well over £400 with a game. I suppose us gamers have had a good for well over 30 years. Ev...
Judy’s black nail polish is awesome!
It’s all about the games, but the huge fails are the size of the console and the fact that it basically comes with an Xbox One controller. Not sure if the console can be laid on its side, but even that would be a push on my unit.
I mean, playing a game knowing the location of enemies, as with The Last of Us series, takes away the realism and is a form of cheating (should be an option to turn it off). It was always going to be the same as the first game, so why this is never taken into consideration with reviews is a mystery, but what else can be do with any game? Why get sucked into the hype? These days, it's virtually all about the graphics. Most of the time, you're that busy playing away, the visuals whi...
Take a look at the Resident Evil franchise and you'll see there's been plenty of cash grab games remade. I wouldn't even say CAPCOM is a major player in gaming anymore.
