True but how does Amazon is able to sell console games cheaper than retail.
Agreed, that is a horrible future but it can happen.
If online sales of games were cheaper nobody would buy the retail version of say game unless it offered a figurine, pip boy , etc. That would be nice but console gamers are so loyal to corporations, preventing it from happening. Without retail stores selling games, games would be cheaper, family plan would become a reality, more deals and steals, lower game development costs, etc. The problem is besides corporate loyalism (ask any console gamer if Sony, Microsoft, or Nintendo were to leave th...
Lightning fast internet not available is a lame excuse. Netflix already provides 4K video. Technology is moving much faster than before, 2020 is the year that Xbox game pass or similar service replaces console hardware.
On PC is already full digital distribution and is possible to download a game play it at 4K 60 frames per second. Cloud gaming on the other hand will take off in 2020 and become the norm 2025 😎. As for consoles will be replaced by services like Xbox game pass (download the game) circa 2020.
Is a great idea pay $10.00 a month to stream games over the ☁ or pay $60.00 or less to download and own the game with the ability to refund/share game. 2020 or 2025 this may become a reality meaning no more console hardware, everybody wins.
I like Microsoft approach more (download games). 2020 is the year that PSN/Xbox live tv apps become a reality
Digital Distribution says hi. Today on any PC is possible to download any game at 4K 60 frames per second. Now picture a 4K Tv with an 8 core processor(PC processor not tablet processor) an Nvidia Integra GPU and able to log in to PSN/Xbox Live TV app download game to sd card, usb flash drive or external hdd. Play game without any additional hardware. That is the true logical future of console gaming
I disagree
Nope a PSN tv app😸 on 2020 no console hardware anymore yay. Able to play Uncharted on any device even on tv (on tv like Netflix except is gaming) 😸
Not this time:
Smartphones as good as a PC
PCs too far ahead of consoles with more benefits than consoles
TVs capable of playing: Netflix, Amazon, Youtube, Crunchyroll, etc. without. any additional hardware requirement.
Laptops good for school and businesses
Which console manufacturer will want to keep these costs:
Manufacturing
Warehouse
Transportation
...
No console hardware is ancient compared to the competition. PSN/Xbox. Live tv app incoming on 2020 😎. Sony/Microsoft will go from having these costs:
Manufacturing
Warehouse
Transportation
Hardware technicians
Middleman
Network infrastructure
Server
Global Taxes
To these costs if Sony abandons console hardware:
Network infrastructure
Servers
Global ...
Compare to 100 million PC gamers (from Steam-Humble Bundle users and beyond).PS Now will allow PS4 games to be stream. PS4 will be easier to stream than PS3 games due to PS4s X86 architecture and soup up tablet hardware lol
Tvs had quad core processors, the same multimedia services as consoles, the same inputs/outputs as consoles. That's just the tv.
Have you seen what a smartphone is capable from VR ( on par to what a console offers inferior to Oculus or Vive) to native 4k and the closest to a PC more than consoles:

I don't see it. Is time to get off the nineties and see:
Gaming PCs are affordable, easy to assemble, and be able to play in the couch with a gamepad
The smartphone is a monster and is the closest thing to a PC more so than consoles:
Native 4K already available for home videos, Netflix, youtube, etc.
Capable of cloud gaming (Onlive proved it was possible to play cloud gaming on a smartphone)
Ab...
Look out for 2020 when PSN Tv app releases. Console hardware is done and buried. Is no longer possible to release a compact form of a box with the latest tech for $400.00 or less.
This article was garbage . The PS4 Pro is nothing more than an overclocked PS4. The OG PS4 is as powerful as a 2010 gaming PC and the Pro a low end gaming PC.......
Yeah
You can play on a sofa & a gamepad on PC 😎 Is not the nineties anymore .
But gamers can fight developers and force them to sell games cheaper via digital. Once retail shops close their physical game sales, think of all digital shops selling games cheap. In a digital world is easier to open and manage a digital storefront than a brick and mortar.
