Agreed and once the companies become profitable the companies forget about their consumer. Case in point Valve. No more daily deals during Steam Summer Sale, has not fixed early access, and refunding games is a pain in the butt
Microsoft had to copy Valve in other to become a more consumer friendly corporation.
Steam offers:
Videogame refunds
Sells games for cheap
Lets gamers handle the steam store through early access, greenlight
To me Valve/Amazon are by far the most consumer friendly corporations.
Darn! I was going to say Valve but you were referring console manufacturers.
Microsoft turn around is due to gamers forcing Microsoft to change its ways.
Because it doesn't offend anybody. A game based on U.S. defeating ISIS. The controversy, the smear campaign, is just too much for game developers to put up with. Remember that crappy tank game that feature ISIS soldiers how much controversy it got.
Who cares about that. Don't bring political correctness. That is the reason why there is like one or two games based on the middle east war. It would be kind of cool to see a game based on the middle east war. Playing a single player campaign about U.S. soldiers defeating ISIS . Then to calm down minorities the multiplayer part only able to play as ISIS soldiers mowing down American Soldiers. It is political correctness and the fear of causing offense to certain people that those games ar...
Lame
Is not that, there is plenty of games that already cover that era and that part of the war like the Medal of Honor series. The point is Activision is not doing anything original or moving the industry forward. Would you have not liked a Call of Duty based on say the. Fall of Babylon, The Crusades, etc. I hope that call of duty does not start bringing WW2 games. Nostalgia is nice and all but come on bring some new war periods to war games. Even if the US is not part of say war. Personally, I w...
Bummer, no why not call of duty fall of rome, fall of babylon. Is an American company never mind.
No, after the console crash gaming was doing just fine without consoles. Flash back to today and what do we see:
Kickstarter
Fig
Early Access more like early crap
Xbox Game Pass on the horizon
PS Now
Is all digital and thanks to kickstarter/fig games that console manufacturers would turn say games down are now made.
It was through kickstarter that theme park games returned. The graphic adventure games...
I disagree with the rise of digital distribution there is no need for ancient technology from a console. Xbox Game Pass will replace consoles and by 2020 or 2025 with the power of the ☁ hardware will no longer be an issue.
I play PC gaming with a 360 gamepad in front of my 42 in tv. Can we just for once accept that PC gaming can be played with a gamepad hooked to an HDTV set with HDMI cable.
Is not so much consoles holding PC gaming but technology has advanced so rapidly these last few years that game developers have fail to keep up. The issue lies with the simple fact that multiplatform games are made one size fits all; thus, the complexity/last minute details that PC gamers crave are lost. The reason that game developers do that is due to save 💰. ...
The title is misleading nothing is said about the advantages of physical media. It only talks about consoles inability to have an excellent backwards compatibility feature
Please tell me is not because of Call of Duty crap which is the same game every year. Did Battlefield 1 had free map packs and no microtransanctions.
Really people bought those two yearly games in droves why?
It was free DLC, no microtransanctions, and no $50.00 season pass for Titanfall 2; yet, Call of Duty wins again financially speaking. To make matters worse people complaining about Infinite Warfare being crap. It felt like when Unreal Tournament 3 for PS3 with full keyboard and mouse support, mod support, map editor, lan party loses financially to freaking Call of Duty modern Warfare.
Infinite Warfare blah! How can anyone play that game. What was the other shooter game that came out besides Infinite Warfare?
Full digital on 2020. Xbox game pass takes over. Follow by cloud gaming on 2025 or 2022. Digital gaming services will replace console hardware.
WoW! That explains the rain in California lol!!. For once I agree with Patcher (Before this his predictions were laughable). The rise of digital distribution, the tvs becoming more than a tv (Built in quad core processors, multimedia apps, built in Bluetooth), the ease of use of today's pcs and the smartphone going from a luxury item to a necessary item. The console hardware just can't compete anymore. Xbox gamepass will become the norm in 2020. Patcher is right console software is m...
