I agree, with PSX, Gamescom, Tokyo Game Show, Comic Con, etc. is taking the blockbuster goodness from E3. Making gaming studios and console manufacturers which show works best to reveal their games or which shows to reveal their game demos.
Personally, I did not like Sony's E3 conference. It was just a gaming reel like Tech TV cinematique tv gaming show. In an age were media can easily be edited or modified to make the game look good. That worries me as a gamer due to the games may not look as good. Microsoft did it with the xbox 360, Ubisoft has done it also. What is stopping Sony from not doing it. The only rivarly I see is from PS4 vs PC. The Xbox One has nothing left to show: no exclusives, xbox one x is just an upgrade to Xbox One with no games, etc. . Nintendo still relying on its 1980 franchises. Come on, no wonder Sony is doing so well on the console side of things.

He is telling the truth, think about it: no game has continued what L.A. Noire started with facial animations and expressions. Tres FX is hardly used which could enhance gameplay greatly. NViDiA Gameworks has shown how special effects, hair can be improved upon in games but game developers barely use it. The gameplay mechanics in games are in desperately in need of an overhaul. Please enough with the car analogy that doesn't make sense. Anyways, I agree with game developers making the most out of consoles but not so much on PC. Tres FX is hardly utilized and so is NVIDIA Gameworks and it explains why games still lack realistic facial expressions, real body animation, ragdoll physics that affect gameplay, etc. All of this is already available on PC unused due to console hardware.
The Xbox One was hampered by having a gaming OS, a kinect OS, and Windows Mobile OS. Hence, the games on xbox one being weaker.
The console manufacturers were forced to upgrade consoles 3 years in because the OG PS4 and Xbox One were very outdated. So, let's pretend PS4 Pro doesn't exist.
He is right a lot of games are made with consoles in mind. Today's consoles can barely run kerbal space program, ark survival evolve, etc. Unless the game hardly has any features or is linear as hell will run fine on consoles. Elite Dangerous dlc is only coming to pc not consoles. Black Desert will never come to today's consoles is too big for consoles to handle.
I agree with the game developer one hundred percent. Look at Ubisoft downgrading its games to make them run on current gen consoles. The focus on making bland open world games with no minigames, areas closed until finishing certain missions. All the game creativity is coming from PC. The console hardware is done and buried. Is time for Sony Microsoft and Nintendo just releasring gaming services.
What the guy meant was that Sony prevents people from using their hard bought games forcing them to re-buy them again.
But Sony was one of the corporations to include bc on PS2 and PS3 ($600.00). So according to you, Sony forgot how to implement bc. Glad I am on PC with both bc and free online gaming.
That's because Xbox gamers, the media, and more importantly the U.S. military went up in arms against Microsoft in regards to the Xbox One launch (24/7 online requirement for both single and multiplayer campaign, no disc tray, kinect focus,etc.). It took an entire gaming generation for Xbox gamers to wake up and demand quality. Microsoft had no choice at all but to cater to the gamers. How so when Jim Ryan himself was talking about crossplay hurting stakeholders feelings. Surprisingly, Nintendo the company of their way or the highway is on board with crossplay puts Sony for the players to shame.

Sticking to PC, for I will get Native 4K at 60 frames per second. But more importantly, I will get all Xbox One games, multiplats, and PC exclusives😋. On top all playstation games through PS Now 😋
