Things like this irritate me. You can't own every word in a title.
It's like trying to trademark yellow or blue, because they exist in your game.
All this is going to do is generate terrible feelings towards another big company trying to screw a nice little innovative developer.
Put away your lawyer dicks and present the warm bosom of employment to a great developer like Notch.
Borderlands is the shizgazizzle-boombang-bazingaz izzlefoofizzle.
*high fives*
Beautifully said. Eloquent and succinct. (I realised as I wrote this that you can't tell if I'm being sarcastic, I'm not.)
FUCK YES!!
Regardless of its focus, RAGE is (by all accounts that I've read or seen) going to be an outstanding AAA game.
I don't want another Fallout 3, I have Fallout 4 for that. I want RAGE.
Technically not true, Tech5 has been in development for 7 years.
RAGE itself was started at more or less the same time as Fallout 3 and Borderlands.
Your point still stands though, they were started at the same time.
I think the article is talking more in terms of pace and attitude though.
Either way, dumb article. Both are\will be great games and putting them in a V.S. competition is pointless.
I don't doubt that in the hands of skilled artists, this engine could produce some stunningly detailed stuff.
If you look into the tech at all, you see why this is possible. Animation with this engine is incredibly difficult.
To me, animation, lighting, artstyle, these are all more important than polygon count so ya, I don't really care about this engine unless they can make animating more easily doable.
Zergactly!
Portal 2 looked great to me because the artstyle and animations were so good.
Sure the graphical detail is starting to lag behind a bit but to me its really the least important thing.
(That's not to say its unimportant just that when looked at as a whole, animation, artstyle and a few other things matter more to me)
This method doesn't allow for easy animation. I don't know about you but I like animation in my games.
Graphical detail is not the only thing involved with how beautiful a game is.
Making the comparison is a MASSIVE complement to Spider Man.
Batman is in another league.

I wasn't trying to be horrible. If you really think its GOTY material tell me why.
I loved Bound In Blood and am seriously disappointed by all the reviews. I think it serves them right for abandoning the old west but still, if you like it, tell me why and I will give it a chance.
Considering how much I enjoyed Bound in Blood and how much I miss the old West vibe, I was heart broken when I saw them take The Cartel to modern times which is like dressing Megan Fox up like a man.
Every bad score is like a gentle kiss of righteousness to my soul.
Whoever disagreed with you is a fucktard. Unless you were serious in which case you are a fucktard.
I don't think you're a fucktard.
Developers have no sensitivity to my poverty. Arkham City, Skyrim, Deus Ex, RAGE, Battlefield....DAMN IT!
...listen to me whine about a world with TOO many good games.
Crysis 1, was incredibly demanding when it came out and so got a bad rap.
It also happened to be a beautiful, tight and highly polished game with all the trimmings.
In comparison, Crysis 2 is horse-shit
If this is true, 2011 is going to be a ridiculous year in gaming.
I'm glad we get to revisit Altair. I always liked the middle Eastern setting more than Italy.
Magnificent argument. Logical, intelligent, a thing of beauty really.
FFS.
At least attempt to be funny if you're just going to troll.
Although this does kinda help my point that Turn Based is for humourless accountant types who get sexually aroused by a well organised spread sheet.
I'm glad that the game is busy being developed after its out. Hi Rea Textures.
Then Dx11
Now Co Op
Ridiculous.
It's a fairly one tone, linear game so this just seems like spoiler.
Nice vid though
