I'm only 15 hours in and I'm already done.
After games like Uncharted, The Witcher 2 and Kingdoms of Amalur, I expect more interesting narratives than Skyrim is offering.
It's a real pity.

You are very right about Valve and Blizzard - they know how to make you car about their games.

I suppose that was kinda the point - the last two are games that, for anyone whose played them, will be remembered.
I also think you underestimate how popular they were.
Maybe the article should have focused more on the fact that the games are examples of experiences that stick with you for a long time.

I agree. Not since Fable The Lost Chapters has a lighthearted, colourful, hack 'n slash style rpg been released.
This looks far more in-depth, far better quality and just all around awesome. Even the Demo surprised me with how smooth the combat felt and how good the game looked in motion.

I have bought Mass Effect 1, I bought Mass Effect 2 at launch. Both games had reasonable DRM that didn't require me to install any third party crap.
Now Mass Effect 3 wants to change this just so EA can shove Origin down my throat?
This is when I find it hardest to condemn piracy. Piracy makes sure that unless a company treats their customers well, they have an alternative. This is a healthy system.

When (if) the game comes out, it will be with a huge countdown at least several months before hand made by Blizzard. They want hype to be at its highest when the game releases which means a lengthy PR campaign leading up to the release.

The funny thing is if the game is good we'll all go back to these articles, interviews and videos and all be like "yup, you can see they really meant what they were saying" in reality I can rarely tell.
As much as I want to believe developers when they talk like this, I've been burned too many times.
SO many developers talk the talk and will convince you beyond all reason, that their game is different. Everyone else talks crap but THEY are telling the truth.
Give me gameplay, give me hard fact, give me verifiable features or give me death.
