Nope for two key reasons...

1) Rayman Origins released fairly randomly over the course of last year. (Nov = PS3/Xbox, Feb = Vita (logical at least), March = PC, Nov 2012 = 3DS) I don't recall much hype for the PS3/Xbox version, VERY little for the Vita version (since it was a launch) and heard virtually nothing about the PC / 3DS version.

2) Releasing the game is free hype / publicity and if you want to be cynical... paying beta testers. If the Wii U vers...

It will hurt Ubisoft... that is pretty much a fact.

They pretty much got the Wii U community to hate them, I mean this went to a launch title to a game coming out roughly a year later for virtually no reason.
The new versions will cost additional money, so Rayman Legends needs to get more sales before they can turn a profit.
Rayman Legends had a lot of hype, but it's slowly dwindling. They will need to restart the hype (costing more money) and get people...

The point of the DLC should be to implement "better" weapons, additional resources, new content or offer new options for builds or builds in general. So far the DLC only adds new options for builds, which is great for that select minority, but is practically useless for everyone else. The DLC also adds new stories (most of which suck), missions and of course raid bosses.

What we need are new features that 2 was missing or at least a new use for eridium past summoni...

What exactly is overacting about it?

They start by announcing this amazing looking game as a Wii U exclusive, which no doubt convinced a LOT of people to purchase a Wii U or at least consider one. For me it was Bayonetta 2, Rayman Legends, Pikmin 3 and Monster Hunter Ultimate, so I see this as a huge turn off. Next they spent a lot of time getting the word out there. At E3 they had a roughly 10 minute long demo and kiosks had a DIFFERENT demo of Rayman Legends at roughly the ...

@ SonyStyled

While that is most likely true, that has yet to be proven. You could have said the same of the DS when the 3DS came out, but that still got Black / White 2.

Not only that, the Max Anarchy title actually makes sense.

Game is about finding MAX and the ANARCHY he caused.

Actually, they probably don't know these things that far in advance. What probably happens is that they have an idea or a number of deals being worked out. It's completely possible that Guardians of Middle Earth sold poorly, so they did a sale. Numbers were still low, so they asked Sony to "cash" them out by scoring a few bucks via plus. Something similar happened with Shank 2, so don't be surprised if that's the case.

Sure this sucks, but you shoul...

Not really a fair comparison. since EU also got Guardians of Middle Earth.

I've seen it often enough from every race, so don't generalize. This all comes back to society trying to be more "politically correct" (or in the US anyway...), so anything that could be offensive to anyone is called out. Even if Tiny Tina is in fact a racist character, how would that change anything? She isn't saying racial slurs or anything that affects the real world, so why should it matter? This is no different than complaining that her lack of sanity / love of expl...

You can look at it a lot of ways. I think a BIG reason for the bump is due to the changes. SH fans want to see how different it REALLY is and action fans want to see how different it REALLY is. If this is indeed true, then I would say that is quite troubling news... it would imply that a LOT are unsure of Dead Space 3 and this could largely impact sales.

This has got to be one of the worst editorials I've read on N4G in a while... (not counting Doom / Gloom stuff)

The fact is that developers / companies DO monitor what we do / what sells and tailer their games to fit this model. How the author could be unaware (or not make reference to it) makes me wonder how much thought really went into the piece... So far we've seen Biohazard and Dead Space go from Survival Horror (though DS was never THAT much of a SH game) to pra...

How about you think about it...

Tester / Pulse was made by Sony and distributed on the PSN for those interested in it. Since this is closer to their point, wouldn't that by default mean others should learn from Tester / Pulse?

Even if that is the case, there isn't a lot of gaming programing, nor does it really have a place anymore. Youtube is a fantastic place to get video reviews / gameplay, N4G is great to find reviews / news and good ol Gamefaqs i...

You need to get out more...

This is no different than Famitsu saying "check back for a scoop on a popular game fans want next week." Typically these are followed up by some lame game no one cares about, a game we never heard about and won't care about or in some cases a genuine scoop.

I wouldn't get too excited about Play-Asia listing it...

Play-Asia also lists a Vita version of Lost Planet 2, Yakuza and Bioshock Infinite (which at least was announced in a more official way). They also list Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain as a PS3 game (one of the two listings shows a picture from ground zeroes), though I don't recall it being confirmed a PS3 / Xbox title (an assumption people made based off them listing PS3 / Xbox on the official site, where...

I agree, but I also disagree with you and this article.

This article only talks about the Wii U, which is only starting to get the same heat the 3DS / Vita have / are getting and is NOWHERE near as bad as PS3 / Xbox doom articles or even Dead Space 3 / Ninja Gaiden 3 / the game I love is a new genre so it will fail articles.

A LOT of the doom and gloom for the Wii U is justified. Nintendo alienated 3rd party developers on the Wii, which resulted in a lack of...

@ Mikemyers

While reviews SHOULD be based off the target demographic and how well the game performs within those standards, it's always good to see multiple opinions.

A lot of people forget that some people read reviews to see what like minded people think of the game. Some people (even casuals in the target demo) will want to know how the game stacks up to previous titles. Like if I found Dead Space 1 to be a boring game, I would want to know what they c...

"RPG fans go where the RPGs are."

Isn't that a generalization too? A good number of JRPG's stay in Japan, so does that mean a "fan" should move to Japan / import them all? Of course not.

Don't get your hopes up too high... they did the same for Borderlands 2 and ultimately just outsourced it.
