A large number of "gamers" seem to base their level of respect and appreciation for a game based on it's sales/marketing figures these days and rarely on said games attempts to push new boundaries, innovate and raise the bar from a technical/gaming perspective.

Everyone is online these days and it's faster, cheaper and easier to get your news fix (gaming or otherwise) digitally. The news is constantly updating and relevent online aswell.

I have respect for anyone who is willing to dedicate themselves to achieving something constructive but in reality is dedicating THAT much time to a game really an achievement? He's accomplished these "achievments" more through addiction than striving to accomplish something constructive. I love games but that isn't healthy. He plays WOW more in a day than the average person works!
