No longer needed :) It's in the Submission now.
Are those two things mutually exclusive? Wouldn't it follow that if they bought more developers they would make more games? That would seem to be the point - I don't think they want to buy developers just to cheese off gamers. I realize that sometimes that's what happens, but I don't think that was their plan.
But his only argument against it is that it isn't open source. If he loves Linux so much why doesn't he install it on the 2 Macs he has running OS X? He just doesn't make a very good argument if you ask me - the vast vast majority of computer users could give a crap about open source; they probably don't even know what it means. The whole point is that Apple hardware and software are made specifically to work together, to provide a complete solution - given that I think one shouldn't be surpr...
His reviews tend to be hit and miss. I feel like this one is more miss than hit.
I played a few minutes of the demo last night - I was impressed by the controls and fluidity of gameplay. I haven't really been excited for this game, but I'm more likely to check it out after playing a bit of the demo. It's too bad it comes out between GTAIV And MGS4 as I probably won't have time to play it when it comes out - I think I'll be lucky to finish GTA by the time MGS comes out!
Yeah - like whenever I shoot someone in real life I always run over to their body to pick up their ammo :)
IDK - Viva Piñata, IMO, looks better than that.
Insomniac is not bound to make games exclusively for Sony - they just choose to. They have a good relationship w/ Sony - co-marketing etc. - and they believe that single console development results in better games.
I guess they mean first-party published as opposed to first-party developed, which is generally what people mean when they say "first-party".
@ above - I think technically "second-party" refers to when a contract is in place that the studio will only make games for a certain publisher or the publisher owns part of the developer.

"Gears of War 2 will be the biggest selling First Party title of 2008." - unless Nintendo releases Wii Play 2 right :)
Gosh - Fable 2 might be the only 360 game I get for the rest of the year.
Not sure what you mean by "topple", but if you mean "sell more copies" then the answer is not a chance.
I'm fairly likely to get this game - unless it comes out of the gate with 1 out of 10s across the board - but this trailer is terrible, makes the game look really boring.
Yeah - Windows Server 2003 SP1 w/ a pretty GUI (aka Vista) is totally superior to Leopard. Haha. Give me a break.
Guitar Hero 3 going up against Rock Band ensured that I was totally over the Guitar Hero franchise. GH4 will have to be really amazing to get me back into it - I just don't think Neversoft can compete with Harmonix in making music games.
WiiWare games had better be either really small, really awesome, or really cheap (free) if they want people to get into them. I feel like they are totally over-looking the issue of storage. I don't even want to download games from XBL onto my 20gig hard drive because I want to make sure I have room for game data, saves, and demos for the life of the console - a few more years at least - I usually have to delete a demo if I want to download another one. I don't think I would want to pay anothe...
Yeah - they aren't broken by any stretch, but the weapon select is not your friend in the clutch.
Absolutely - I'm looking at you Gears of War, Berseker missions!!
Seems possible. If it does actually happen it will be interesting to see what Microsoft has to say about it. Probably something about shortages of the 360 version ;)
