“You can not skip an entire gen without making/releasing one new AAA game”
Would you mind clarifying this?
@sushimama
Appreciate the response but that didn’t really answer my question. To say that no one cares about or wants it is a gross generalisation - I can find just as many comments from people who do want it as I can from people who don’t.
My question was “what’s wrong with crossplay?”
What’s wrong with crossplay? I can only see benefits
“doing the same thing over and over”
As opposed to single player, where the story changes each play through so you never do the same thing twice /s
Like the other commenter said, single player and multiplayer serve their purposes, there’s no need to downplay one in order to prop up the other
How is that what you got from this?
Pretty exciting stuff. I love how mutually beneficial it is
It’s a two way street there. Sony likely can’t do anymore “here is game sharing on the ps4” videos.
When was the last time any of who you mentioned bad-mouthed Sony?
I don’t mean to take us off topic , but I think it’s funny you think Days Gone brought this problem to light.
For years Xbox exclusives have been getting scores around 7-8 and told here that they died on arrival, or that it’s ‘another fail’ for Xbox.
This has been a problem for a long time, because people have conditioned themselves to believe anything below an 8 is a bad game
@foxtrot
“Reddit, Twitter and other places just seem to echo N4G most of the time”
Don’t haven much experience with Twitter, but I don’t think that’s quite right with Reddit. Looking at the general consensus on the PS4 subreddit for Days Gone, and people say it’s an ok game that doesn’t live up to its other exclusive counterparts.
Meanwhile N4G gets riled up if you don’t call it game of the year
I don’t quite get your comment. You don’t want it to have exclusives?
Lol just because you say that they should do it doesn’t mean it’ll happen.
Do you know how long games take to make? There’s no way any of those studios have anything ready to show, and that’s ok. Why should they be expected to, just 12 months after being acquired?
And it’s not ‘do or die’. Xbox will be fine, like it always is
There’s also the fact that exclusive games will generally top the charts during release week and the week or two following.
For Sony this is a sign that the game is good, but for MS apparently it’s a sign that Xbox owners have nothing to play *shrugs*
“Same level of hate”
I think you have it the other way around. Rage 2 is getting similar scores but it’s not having 2-3 defence articles published a day because it’s not a Sony exclusive.
What I’m seeing is people struggling with an exclusive getting lower than the other exclusive scores - it’s ok that you enjoy the game, but by that token it should also be ok that the reviewers didn’t.
People are also acting like it got a 3/10, which i...
“This is pretty much proof that professional reviewers are biased on some games”
And yet you’re saying user reviews - which are far less moderated and far more bias - are the more accurate of the two?
Looks at:
Sea of thieves
State of decay
Cuphead
Sunset overdrive
Recore
D4
Quantum Break
Ashen
Ori 1
Ori 2
Killer Instinct
Titanfall 1
And more
That’s weird, lots of games that didn’t get cancelled, even though they don’t have halo/gears/forza in the title
Then when do you release it?
I can garuntee there’ll be more massive updates like this in the next 12 months, so should they have waited until then to release? What about the year after that?
Don’t know why you’re getting disagrees, they came out and said the playerbase recently hit the same numbers as launch week didn’t they?
Because the article is about Microsoft testing something.
If it was about Sony teasing something then I’m sure we’d see comments around “it’d be interesting to see a PS exclusive GoT game”
Do we really need gameplay a year and a half before release?
