Games have changed.
It's no longer about campaigns, stories, or authenticity.
It has become an endless series of proxy battles fought by allies and foes.
Online - and its consumption of time- has become a well-oiled machine.
Games have changed.
ID-tagged gamers carry ID-tagged accounts, use ID-tagged gear.
Season passes inside their games enhance and regulate their abilities.
I want another game about Solid Snake, using the original voice. I don't care if it's another sequel or a bunch of prequels. My interest is in the soldier, who was cloned from big boss, and suffered.
I'm up for a PS4 version of the classic NES game titled Metal Gear. That's a start to win back my interest in the series. MGS V is acceptable but I still want that old snake moreso than a story about Big Boss. That is what I want.
I highly enjoyed X-Com UFO Defense on the Playstation 1. I do agree that the controls were a bit difficult to use but I don't think it was hindering to my enjoyment of the game. It's hard to converse with a PC gamer in these regards because it's like talking to a gamer from the future. Yet understand that a console gamer like myself doesn't know the potential, just what I've experienced on my platform.
I also enjoyed other games on the PS1 such as Comma...
The consoles sorely lack these types of games. It seems they are purposely keeping these PC exclusive .
Why don't they have religion options like they do language? We have the option to choose characters, skill sets, weapons, appearance, and sex.
No original Snake voice? That is an iconic part of the game. It's about as bad as turning a stealth game into a hack and slash. It's like
Taking Mario out of his games.
Removing exploration from Final Fantasy.
Changing the DMC character and still calling him Dante.
Removing the survival horror from resident evil.
They need to shoehorn a cyborg ninja somewhere into the main plot.

I just used a launch PS3, with PS2 compatibility, along with the zerogame emulater for the Linux capabilities of that system.
I'm really surprised that they haven't been stopped for holding your games ransom. Think about it.
They start you out with some pleasant terms, and under those terms you purchase access to those games. That was the agreement you made when that transaction occurred. The fact that they can get away with changing the rules while placing more of your values at stake should be considered predatory business practices.
What they are doing is creating an...
Based on my experience with the original XBox, the service is universal BUT it is console specific. That means I pay once for XBox Live and would need to play the original XBox to access the original Xbox services. Then I needed to play 360 to access the 360 services. There was no transfer over of content and eventually the support was dropped altogether.
I expect the industry dislikes any backward compatability in this day of service run consoles. When people realize t...
Then always buy the disc version when available. The advantages of having a physical disc are several.
First, the disc doesn't require activation from a server. That is because you purchased the game directly from the developer. The disc itself authorizes the genuine copy.
Second, there is no need to back up the disc. Unless you are terrible with taking care of your disc it will always be in it's original state. They are trying to bug every disc ...
The author is wrong about one thing. He believes there is an option to own a game by purchasing a license that never expires. While the license never expires it is still dependant on the PSN service.
When you "buy" a game from the PS Store you get a sublicense, not an actual license. This means that Sony bought the license and is giving you access. If you "buy" a game and the online service stops you lose the game. If the PS4 comes out and they decid...
I don't know why but I am not as excited for the PS4 as I was for the PS3. I have yet to know why.
As for platform exclusivity.. he acts like this has never happened before. Metal Gear has been on multiple platforms so I don't see the purpose of his words.
I have played Metal Gear since the NES back in the 80's. His recent games, words, and opinions don't reflect the last 25 years of his life. It seems he's letting his company take over and it shows.
We're talking about a man who redefined gaming by creating stealth as a form of gameplay. He built an entire story that took years to tell that focused on the lives of Big Boss and the clones that related to him.
Now it's about some cyborg ...
1. The touchpad is really a fingerprint scanner.

People are rather spoiled and give in to their immediate desires. This is exactly what these services want you to do. That's what they are giving. Immediate gratification.
They make everything quick and easy so that even a 40 page popup can be quickly accepted with no apparant consequences. And that's the problem. People won't care unless it directly happens to them. All the text, warnings, or hoops won't do much but stir complainers. They will react wh...
The Final Agenda
1) It will stop some piracy but not most.
2) Your identity is more valuable.
3) It will end the used game format after it ends the physical format.
4) Games will not be owned or obtained, just accessed.
5) They will set prices higher for everything your eyes look at.
6) They will set prices based on everything you clicked on.
7) They will monitor words you say to determine your interests.
8) They will se...
There is no conclusive tie between sales and quality. It's an unfortunate truth I've come to accept. Maybe one day popularity will be removed from gaming. Then we can focus on games once again.
