This means 7/8 owners of Halo were online playing at the same time across the globe? I wasn't playing and haven't for a while. Were all of you playing at this time?
They always do this. When the PS2 released they hooked up 7 PS2's together as a prototype for their PS3 (hmmm.... beginnings of the CELL...). It would be more news if they decided to not make another console.
on this site and we need it fast. Grass roots movement from the people that use this site for what it should be: News For Gamers. We need to stop the fan boy crap. Use the bubble system people. I don't care if the fanboy talk is about your console of choice, when this kind of PR crap is just spouted on here time and time again it gets old and I'm getting tired of sifting through this crap. Abuse the bubble system. Every time you see a good post, bubbles up, crap post, bubbles down. Let...
I have 2 PS3's and a 360 and got AC and COD4 for the PS3 and because of that my PS3's get played far more often. I still need to pick up the other flagship titles for the 360 like Bioshock, Mass Effect, and Gears, but I refuse to until I get through my current library of unfinished games like Assassins Creed, COD4 SP & MP (roommate plays this mostly), UT3 SP & MP, Oblivion and Ninja Gaiden. Hopefully by the time I'm done w/ these the prices of those 1st get 360 games will be in the ...
Go to the live music section or search for a band. LOTS of local bands I see are on there from the MPLS area. Like I said, I have tens of thousands of live tracks on my iPod from this site and it's totally legal.
This is all over and I'm so glad I didn't buy into the $170 360 add on even w/ the free 5 movies. Also, doesn't Paramount have a clause that if Blu holds onto a big enough section of the market they can get out of their contract early? I wonder how long it will be before Toshiba just bows out.
90% of my music on my Ipod is live music and is legally distributable any way you see fit. 99% of that music is endorsed by the band. archive.org, a beautiful site for some great free music.
But nothing is going to happen from this. It is ridiculous and would be an absolute killer for the mp3 playing devices like the iPod. Apple and M$ would put up a huge fight against this.
Uhh yes they did. They ran a promotion through best buy for a free HDTV and they did drop the price, plus how many SKU's do they have?
Don't get me wrong, it's a great machine, but I got one through Best Buy and got a 360, Halo, and a TV for $100 bucks more than the TV. Both companies had great years which is good for everyone. Bring on the exclusives so that they can be programmed for the best games possible.
Sold to retailers and shipped are the same damn thing. How many 360's do you think were shipped w/out being sold to the retailer? Come on...
I live w/ my gf and another friend who is a girl, and though my gf likes to play games, my other friend has never liked them. Yesterday morning I woke up to her playing Lego Star Wars for the second morning in a row. LOL! Who woulda thought? I also bought my siblings the first half on PS2 and they play it more than any other game they got this x-mas.
But yeah, you're right, all those other games are crap anyway.
Even the guys who blindly lap in everything M$ has to give them don't think it's a good idea... well for the most part. The 360 has always been about games and to release this saying 'hey we can do that too' is far too little far too late. There are way too many cons to outweigh the pros and they are professionals. If they do this and my $450 elite (plus 3 controllers, rechargers, wifi, etc...) is obsolete I'm sure I'm not the only one who would never buy a M$ gaming console again.
I thought the 360 was all about the games and not about movies. Mark my words if they do go w/ this SKU (and like you said, they won't) it will flop HUGE! It won't sell for less than $499 IF there is a $100 price drop on the Elite.
Yeah right... But what is going to happen is that PS3 sales are going to increase from last year (I would say around 10 Mil sold next year) while 360 sales stay stagnant for the most part. They won't catch up, but the gap will be closer. That's good because then we 'might' see some innovation instead of generic shooters rehashed over and over again.
Has M$ told us that any 360 game will run on any 360? This means that whether or not you have all this (huge HDD, HD-DVD reader) the game will still need to be compatible w/ the lowest end model (no HDD, DVD reader). So what benefit does it give the consumer or developer? They still have to go w/ the lowest end specs and while an all in one machine is nice (uhhh PS3), they have already made the decision to not do this and let the consumer choose what add ons they would like.
...
There is no way they will release this w/ the specs provided. Built in wi-fi would be a maybe (but I doubt it w/ the previous models), but there is no way they'll put a built in HD-DVD drive in there because games can't use it and every 360 owner knows, it's about the games. Everything else is in the elite. As a side, why would M$ make a higher end model for more when price has been such a hot topic this gen?
Spent 9 hrs yesterday on this game and can't wait to go back to it tonight. Anyone w/ a PS3 that doesn't own this game is missing out. Uncharted 2 will be even better. I will say it isn't perfect because some of the white is off, like around the mouth or when in direct sunlight, and some of the platform jumping is weak, but as an overall experience I haven't had a game like this for a while. This is what I'm looking for in a next gen game and the bar has been raised.
Why hasn't it caught on w/ other media, such as games, TV shows, etc...? There are a few people doing this, but it is even less than those buying HD-DVD's and blu rays.
blu ray has not been beaten anywhere in the world. Not a single place. Not US, not UK, not EU, not Asia, not anywhere. Standalone players, maybe, but disc sales and overall players (including PS3 and 360 sales) blu is killing HD-DVD. Please show me one article that shows differently.
This may be the first game I ever pre-order. Well, I may pre-order FF as well, but I'm skeptical because I know a lot of people that didn't get their game on release because Gamestop didn't get enough stock (eh hem... Halo 3), so I may just go store to store until I find it instead.
Based on some comments on here I assume most people are 12 and don't remember the transition from VHS to DVD. DVD was introduced and it was expensive... REALLY expensive. $1000-2000 for a player and $30 a movie. Movies were produced on both and consumers had a choice. Eventually (w/in a few years) player prices went down to $200-300 range and the PS2 came out w/ a built in DVD player. We started to see more DVD's in stores as opposed to the VHS counterparts. Eventually all new movies we...
