They are just starting to make profit. They are outselling the 360 for the 1st time and they have EASILY the best lineup of 2008. What incentive do they have to lower the price. I put in a DVD in my PS3 on both my 32" LCD 1080i and my 65" DLP 1080p TV's and when the movie started everything was pink. I had to go turn the color to full to see the movie. Both were connected w/ HDMI cables.

That's what makes a game for you? You would love this new game in development I heard about. It's a 360 exclusive called 'Rum-Rum 2008'. You put the disc in hit start and you see how long your controller will rumble until the 360 RROD on you. The graphics have a few jaggies, but you shouldn't mind, cause it's got rumble and an awesome achievement system so you can brag to your friends on the internet about how great of a score you got.

But it is an extra like having DVD format was 'extra' last gen. Eventually it will be necessary and it provides something more to a consumer to justify the high costs of 'jumping in' this gen.

Come on... there are 8 people who own a PS3 for every 1 standalone player, so for 90% of BD owners the specs don't mean $hit.
They need to market better all around and set itself apart from the competition.
1) Market FREE online
2) Built in Blu ray (well they do a good job of this)
3) PC Capabilities (web browsing, DLC via the web (not PSN))
4) Casual FUN games like HVB, Everyday Shooter, and Super Stardust
5) Get Home working and out to the users.
Had they done this right and I think there would be more PS3's in households than the wii.
How many games do you own (and like) that are like this? I personally don't own any, but if I had I would increase the difficulty. It's not rocket science here.
If these things don't work then I stop playing it. If it's not enjoyable (for whatever reason) I just stop playing it. Pretty simple actually. I stand by the fact that games are made to be beaten and many now are simply training for the online multiplayer.

Games are meant to be beaten. You are 'supposed' to be good at them. Think it's too easy, well, bring your a$$ online and test your skills there.
First CD player I owned couldn't play burned CD's. Same w/ the first DVD player. Don't even get me started on MP3 and DivX functionality. It's just the way it is. A smart consumer would have researched this and found that the PS3 is the best road since it has automatic firmware updates.
I have plenty of FPS's. Why do devs feel that I need yet another? Between UT3, COD4, Halo, Gears, Bioshock, and the tons of shooters that aren't even playable why even care that some half assed port they can't get right is delayed? Bring on KZ2 and Resistance 2.
