Totally true. We've seen it in the past with motion gaming before the wii, 3D has tried several times to take off and failed in gaming. Oculus Rift seems to be catching on with the developers though, so I see them enjoying it and then in a few years when the price drops for an Oculus Rift set, we will be spoiled with playable games for it. Plenty of people bought the crap known as Kinect, why shouldn't they spend the same amount on a set of VR goggles?

Agreed. The Oculus Rift is the step in the right direction. Almost as if we are slowly working our way to a fully functional holo-suite. That will be the day gaming will reach every soul on the planet.

And Bumnut, a lot of us writers who post our stuff on N4G are big PC gamers. Maybe it's just the majority of the readers that prefer consoles, they are the majority at the end of the day.

Its good to see that you haven't had that many issues with past iterations of windows, however, the big problem with 8 is the usability on Non-touch screen devices. I don't believe that you don't struggle time to time with the way 8 is set out on your netbook.

The small menu bars to scroll across the metro apps, the constant booting into metro rather then desktop mode, having to scroll off screen to get a button rather then placing one on the desktop. Yes, some of...

No I can't say for definite but as SilentNegotiator said above, the current Xbox already has a metro design very similar to windows 8. Unless they do some serious redesigning and change the input to Kinect only or touch only, I don't see a massive issue.

You have to understand this from a PC user point of view. Using a mouse instead of a finger, on a touch orientated OS doesn't work. It's the same reason that 7 never worked on tablets, the buttons were too sma...

It will have no effect on the next xbox what so ever.

The complaints with Windows 8 come from PC users who can't operate properly without a touch screen attached to their computer. A lot of us told Microsoft this before they released the final version and they didn't listen a tad. They thought that forcing users to use a new interface even when it doesn't work correctly with a mouse and keyboard, would be a good idea. Guess that didn't work out for them.

I'm still going to be sticking with AMD for the future. I've never had an issue with any board ever bought from them and they perform perfectly fine during heavy gaming.

I've never liked having Intel chipsets, never seem to perform as they are suppose to.

I didn't believe that until I looked it up, your right. PS3 = 6.5 million as of 2011 and 3DS = 11.5 million as of 2013. Add an extra million or so for the year gap and the 3DS still has outsold the PS3 by double.

That is probably down to the fact that space is Japan is at a premium, portable consoles then get a big advantage in such environments.

However, with 30 million+ units sold in Europe alone, I think its safe to say PS4 will have a home to go to. S...

Yeah ,Yi is correct. It won't increase a lot if any. And speaking as someone who gets free games from companies to do reviews on, the proper reviewers amongst us will not be swayed in our opinions of the game itself no matter what we receive.

At the end of the day, someone's choice to spend £40/$60 on a new game or sequel is often down to what we as game reviewers say about it. To mislead those readers is just going to get you into shit for not doing your job pro...

Agreed, a lot of money for too little an improvement. This is not MS's secret weapon, unless they've lost their minds.

Whether it will change games as we know it is highly doubtful, but it looks cool.

An excellent game but then you have the likes of Legacy, Star Trek Online, Starfleet Command 3 was a buggy mess. There have been a few decent games but the easiest comparison is Star Wars, and they've had 70-80% hits against 20-30% hits for Star Trek.

Away team was great, Voyager Elite Force was a breath of fresh air and the original Starfleet command did what no other game has done with RTS/Sim space games.

STO was a big chance and it flopped big time f...

Specially as they had several months of delay to so they could release at the same time as the movie. The game was apparently ready months ago, what have they been doing?

Yeah, however, PC Co-op doesn't work for all PC gamers, with exceptions to developers. Hmm, kinda throws a spanner in the works there.

I'm not hugely surprised. Though I'm not a fan of this new rehashed Star Trek, the series has always had trouble getting good games built and released. Must be a trekkie curse or something. Star Wars has had much better luck.

Though I agree with you both, ME3 was a pretty good game until the ending. If you have no interest in a game, fine, don't buy it. But all those people who do enjoy it but find flaws that could be fixed did the right thing. They supported the game by buying it and then vocally complained when it wasn't up to par.

Not buying a game does nothing to a company unless a significant amount of people don't do so. However, a public opinion of a company is something that us...

Its refreshing to see someone joke about the matter after such a series few months of speculation. Made me chuckle in several places, thanks for cheering me up.

You mean, SHARE! Lol, most companies now don't like that word. Specially if they have their own publishing house.

What I don't get is why if they wanted it, did they not bid on it in the first place. I think they want to get the IP cheap from Nordic which is not very fair.

So they are going to wreck another decent RTS. Settlers online is a joke of a game, it used to be a renowned title in the RTS genre and its slumpt rather far from its great history. I'd prefer it not happen to another decent game again.
