Honestly, I think 2014 Spring (which is probably when) is cutting it close.

The reason why I say that is because PC gaming online is more intense, (don't forget modding) but you can't share your screen with a buddy and he needs his own computer.
When I say PC Gaming, I mean, PC Gamers. Would it be fair if every time we said consoles, people said it's not hardcore because of Wii?
The only positive of having a PC for gaming is modding. Lots of fun to be had there, and I've bought games solely on the PC just for that purpose.
Having a couple friends over? Consoles.

But they're separate... Two separate video streams to two separate screens. Half the time the bottom one is just a map anyways. The other half of the time, it's the other way around.
Videos that looked like they were embedded took me to a separate place to view. Annoying, but still a good selection.

Oh, and lastly, usually there is a leaderboard, which is essentially a huge highscore or high-skill level board. I think I can also compare my trophies and achievements with friends.

I never actually liked trophies or achievements. Every once in a while it would be something funny.
But, that doesn't mean they haven't grown on me. The achievements thing was cool at first, but the bright flashing light at the bottom kind of got to me. The trophy system is more passive, and uses visuals to tell you how big it was.
I guess the most I've gotten out of either is knowing when I found a Easter Egg.
Which turned out to be the biggest win for the last 5 years. Funny how life works.

I'm not even into the racing genre, and this looks like fun.
If anything, adding DRM hurts the economy. Why? There's a lot of extra time spent to make DRM. Then, some hackers, that could be doing other things, crack it anyways. If anything, it strengthens the hacking group, since they all have a reason to crack the game's DRM.
In short, money spent that turns into nothing in the end. In fact, DRM creates headaches when it comes to modding and even simple patching. Or maybe perhaps playing at a friend's house?
