With the 3DS price cut they were selling units at a loss, so of course their financial standings weren't totally great. But if you look at their sales numbers you'll see that the 3DS and Nintendo's first party games did quite well. They have a good market position and as 3DSs become cheaper to manufacture you'll see these loss reports slowly fade away.
I think it's quite apparent they are neither Covenant nor Flood.
I really do not understand the hate for Reach. Yea the story was pretty unfaithful to the canon previously established, but the gameplay was incredibly sound and has an excellently paced campaign with a good variety of different missions, whether it's jetpacking with a gang of ODSTS, flying through space, hijacking a Covenant Corvette in space, etc.
Straight up, Equipment from Halo 3 sucked hard. It was the lamest feature they've probably tried to put in the games. Ar...
I can see how you can say that about CoD, but to say Halo is the same game every year is confusing to hear since each major entry is 3 years apart and is one of the few major FPS franchises that actually does change up each sequel a lot.
Why is this even a contest? Obviously Halo 4 unless you hate when your sequels are overhauled with new tech and gameplay features.
I hope to god. This is one Nintendo franchise that needs reinvigorating and Retro is the best team for it.
I just hope if they are working on it they take more of a Metroid Prime route and totally overhaul and modernize the franchise rather than taking a DKCR route and just doing a new game in the old style.
What makes you think it's CG? Halo has never used CG aside from teaser/cinematic trailers. You can clearly see the HUD in the screenshot too.
Ew no.
No First Party exclusive should run on middleware. Ever.
Or maybe it's because we hold Sony to higher standards than all these no name developers putting out Smash clones. We expect Sony to maybe be inspired by Smash, but innovate on the formula and not outright copy it.
100% win
You would think, but nope. It actually ranked pretty low which shows the validity (or lack of) to this list.
This list is such a joke. Halo is hardly milked. There's a 3 year gap in between each main entry, which I might add always uses a new engine and introduces new gameplay elements their predecessors didn't have (which is way more than I can about a certain other popular FPS on this list)
But even if you want to factor spin offs into the equation there have only been 8 Halo games in the course of 11 years. That's less than a game a year.
I can't ...
Not a fan of this at all. I really hope the original Halo theme is present in this game. You can't have a numerical sequel in this series without its signature theme song.
I honestly liked the first Dante character design they came up with aside from his goofy haircut. I liked how he looked and sounded sort of like an evil/vile street urchin. This newer version isn't bad, but he's certainly not edgy enough to be Dante.
Holy f*ck this series is doomed. Though not the strongest storylines, I've always immensely enjoyed the Lost Planet series. The gameplay has always been sound, so I have no clue why they are outsourcing development to another western developer that is just going to make a lame sequel (Dead Rising 2, Raccoon City, etc.).
Campaign sounds incredible. Spartan Ops is probably my most anticipated new feature. FIVE new co-op missions every week FOR FREE?! Sign me up, stat.
I'm still not sold on their multiplayer changes though. I'm fine with earning credits to unlock new armor abilities and such, but I still want to have to find weapons on the maps and not be able to start out with any weapon out of the sandbox. One thing I've always loved about Halo's MP is that it's in a very ...
This looks utterly horrible.
No firefight mode? Are you kidding me?
Joining almost finished matches with uneven teams like every other lame-as-f*ck shooter these days? AND a currency system which purchases gameplay enhancers/modifiers? No, just no. Part of Halo's appeal is that every match starts out fresh and everyone is on an even playing field. It's a struggle for control over the map's power weapons, not a f*cking race to log in as much play ...
It's not milking until main entries in the series become annual.
I'm going to believe the developers like Vigil who are on record saying that the Wii U is more powerful over "anonymous sources" that are saying it's not. Either way, this damn well better not be true.
YES ITS FINALLY HAPPENING
