I don't really think the "oh it's a carbon copy sequel" is a good argument. This is not aiming to be the 6th gen real pokemon sequel that will inevitably hit the 3DS. This game essentially fills the same role as Pokemon Gray would have, only instead of literally being the exact same game they did a sequel that has the region redesigned, added new locations, a new story, etc.
If anything this is the least lazy "3rd version" they have ever put out. ...
I like the original direction of the game much better. Much much less generic than what it's become. I like that it was going to have humor and exaggerated characters. There's a million other realistic gritty shooters where I can kill aliens.
Glad they mentioned character customization. It was one of the few good things about Battle Revolution. One of my biggest complaints with the series is that after a certain point you have so much money and nothing to spend it on. Adding shops that have new gear and outfits to customize your character with would be awesome.
And also they need to get rid of the INSANELY stale "start out in small town, beat 8 gym leaders, victory road, elite 4" structure they have had ...
PS2 was always quantity over quality. The only thing the Xbox was short on was JRPGs and quality platformers. It slayed at everything else.
I stopped reading after the first reason.
Not a big CoD fan myself, but it's good to hear this doesn't sound like a sloppy rushed port.
I really don't understand this hate. It's a sequel that everyone wanted to see. Nintendo has needed more exclusive core games. I'm happy with the decision
FUUUUCKING EPIIIIIIIC!
Oh god this is hilarious. So you really think CoD was the first FPS to have sprint? That's cute.
Sprint was also a feature that was at one point going to be in Halo 2, but got cut (along with half of the game's other features too <_<)
Nintendo always creates a forest test dungeon when first putting together each Zelda, so whether or not that dungeon would actually make it to the game could go either way, assuming this info is accurate.
Herp derp dante looks like emu. Game plays great, but not important as dante's hair herp derp.
Nope they don't need multiplayer, but they do need a way to extend their value. Panzer Dragoon Orta is one of my favorite examples. It's exclusively single player but the overwhelming amount of unlockables that game had to offer kept you playing at least twice as long as the length of the main game.
You can't just have a game be a 6-8 hour story mode and then end. You need a way to extend the life of it whether it be through appropriately-implemented multiplayer, ...
For open world game standards this would be good looking for next gen, but other than that this isn't near the level of UE4, CE3, or Luminous
I'll take amazing graphics and an acceptable standard 30fps over mediocre graphics running at 60fps.
Wii U sequel please Nintendo
I would actually go as far to say that the game actually looked very mediocre on a graphical level. Looks like just another super dated UE3 powered game.
I'll agree with Microsoft recycling their exclusive franchises these past 3 years, but this game looks way better than Reach on a graphical level (though I am curious why they've removed motion blur even though it was in Reach. Seems like a step back.)
And it just sounds like you don't like sci-fi. You're probably into bland military shooters with color palettes composed of gray, brown, and sand colors with half-baked forgettable stories in a game universe no...
Until we played Halo 2's campaign...
And then got it rubbed in our face how horrible it was after watching the LE dvd where Bungie admits the game was shit, scrapped it, and rebuilt the campaign in 9 months. Overall solid game, but huge disappointment.
Yes some older code still exists but they've totally gutted most of the systems and overhauled them. So on a technicality you can say it's the same engine, but in a totally different context than say CoD/Madden/insert any other yearly franchise that looks the same as its predecessor.
This score seems so inflated, and this is coming from someone who is picking the game up on sunday.
