I can take/leave reticule bloom, but Id be somewhat bummed if Armor Abilities didn't return in some sort of form in the next game. Equipment in Halo 3 was garbage, and AAs were what they should have been.

Holy crap no. Hopefully no Halo will ever be like Halo 2. Yes it brought a ton of great innovations to console multiplayer and defined how console multiplayer should be handled, but the single player was garbage, and numerous gameplay elements were nerfed and/or changed for the worst.

The PS2 probably did more for gaming than the Gamecube did, but the GCN was a more powerful system and as usual with Nintendo, had quality exclusives that their competitors could rarely match. Hell even this year, there's not a single exclusive on any HD machine I'd rather have over Skyward Sword.
Who says they haven't made progress on the console? Whenever developers and publishers put together materials for these trade shows, it takes weeks to prepare. Why would they put together a giant info blowout at a trade show that isn't even gaming centric, where they have very little presence in comparison to e3, and have to do it again in 6 months for e3?

Not gonna lie...the part at 20:00 where Raiden starts running all over buildings in real-time looked nuts. I still think the engine looks like garbage compared to FOX engine, and the whole atmosphere of the game is incredibly campy and cheesy (robot people and "rockin" tunes, really?), but it's hard to deny that Platinum knows action games.
Hopefully the game gets a bit more of a Metal Gear atmosphere and ambiance, then I might be sold. If the game had continued...

Pretty much. It'll no doubt have great combat since Platinum is doing it but this whole thing just drips with cheese and campiness now. I hate this new direction for it.

Reminds me of a combination of Enslaved and I Am Legend. Looks good though. And as great as the UC series is, I'm glad it's not another sequel.
I love Platinum games, but the original footage we saw for this game looked so much better. This trailer drips with cheese, and the original graphics engine also looked better.

Game looks good, but I really don't like this version of Dante. I honestly, prefer the drugged out edgy one over this guy. It's not so much the overall character design that sucked as it was the horrible haircut
Don't forget anti-aliasing. That was the main reason I NEVER played a multiplatform game on my PS2. Worse textures, lower-framerate, and no AA.
They've put out some really quality stuff with Microsoft actually. Viva Pinata is probably one of the best 360 exclusives, not to mention all of the other 80+ games they put out this gen like Kameo, PDZ (the story in this game is laughable though), and BK:N&B. Then don't forget about Conker:L&R for the original Xbox.

Medal of Honor? Are you kidding me. The campaign was so bad I returned it before even touching the multiplayer. And I have yet to play BF3 but from what I understand the campaign is "good" but hardly anywhere near close to being one of the best single player FPSs.
