if you talking about XBOX 360 having 2 hardware threads per core it means that 2 threads are sharing full speed of core which is 3.2Ghz so if 1 thread is running at 2.0 then 2nd is running at 1.2 . Total must be 3.2
PS3 controllers are charged thru USB ports. No extra batteries or chargers required.
A. A cheap blu ray player?
B. An expensive video game console?
C. All of the above?
If it comes to question A.
$1000 price for BD - player includes a Optical Drive P L U S other Hardware Components (most likely worth hundreds) required to decompress, decrypt, data stream processing to TV and then many other things like digital display, power supply, remote control .....
Point is, from all these components for PS3 to be BD player need...
"premium quality never comes for free"
So you finally saying that$600 for PS3 is what you pay for quality? LOL
who cares
Actually I have 1.54 TB (1 computer). Daily backup is done to hard drive but weekly would usually be done on DVDs or "ancient" tape(need off site backup) . From business point of view that is option to consider since I for example don't have to play with 4 or 5 DVDs every week.
Home consumers price point probably would be $199-299. By that time drives will do what current DVD burners do.
The other thing is if Sony would offer Blu-ray burner/PLAYER before P...

You know that is rewritable drive for the computers to be used for backup. It supports up to 50 GB and with $750 price it targets small and medium business, and has nothing to do with PS3 drive which only reading data and not writing.
Exactly !!!!
What games were actually developed for XBOX by MS? Not distributed by MS Game Studios.
I know they're developing for Windows.
You absolutely right. You pay more for quality.
THAT's why I'll get PS3..... I'll pay more but just like said quality counts and still I'll get next gen player, wireless, bluetooth, entry level PC.......
Are you really saying that MS OS like XP is secure. If so, what happened to MS announcement when XP was released that was totally redesign and secured. Why then every single Tuesday I get the pleasure of downloading critical updates.
Come on , stop calling every one that has different opinion brainwashed and look around. Maybe company that you support is not as perfect as might think.
BTW
I never owned any Apple products(not even IPOD) but I would like to po...
If it comes to 1080p component is only certified (assuming that TV accepts 1080p thru component ) at 24 or 30 frames/sec. That's max.
HDMI can do 60 frames/sec.
For watching movies there may be no need to go aver 30F/sec but for games, if there will be any at 1080p, HDMI is only choice.
For 720p or lover component cables will do fine
Also when you buying game console, it is investment for next 4 or 5 years. So what ever is enough today in 12-24 months may not...
How impolite of me.....I will pre-order the 3rd one just for You!!!! LOL
Just to make you angry I will pre-ordered the second one! LOL
MS did not 'invented' Windows.
Even though Apple was first to introduce Graphical User Interface to consumer market, Gates and Jobs got first experience with GUI when they have been invited to Xerox's Palo Alto Research Center. Way back when Microsoft worked for Apple.
At least I think is over.
Now is a question if WINDOWS API documentation that MS provides to developers is the same they use in development of their own applications, for example MS Office. Some believe that OS has build in more efficient API, that is Undocumented and which gives MS unfair advantage over competition. That would make MS apps running faster and more responsive . The same question was raised by us devs few years ago.
Besides MS was sued already over s...

Reasons that Betamax failed were
-Sony did not licensed any other manufacturer(they want it be the only one make it) and JVC licensed averybody including Sony(more choices better prices). That's not case this time. Actually Toshiba is still the only player manufacturer, BD- Samsung ,Sony, Philips, Panasonic, Pionier, Sharp.
-you could not put more that 1hr on Betamax and who would bother with one movie on 2 tapes.VHS offered bigger "storage" -1 movie 1 tap...
Actually AC adopter (F) is connected to (E) which is IBM ThinkPad X40 notebook (most likely used to record measurements) with Logitech Mouse (G).
And ThinkPad X40 is connected directly to (H) which is Mitsubishi LCD Monitor
