You are most likely right. I would not expect to see this feature in 3.4 but maybe following one. I also would be very happy to be wrong.

There is a reason why Sony kind of "abandon" EyeToy. One could be not enough quality titles and third party support, but main reason,in my opinion, this kind of technology doesn't give any feedback or felling of interactive connectivity. I will contradict MS and say that number of application is rather limited. Fitness, dance, something for children like original EyeToy games ..... are best suited for that.

There is not much in it for me. I cant imagine myse...

... especially since there is plenty other games to be played.

If you are PS3 owner and want to point out to Activision that they do not show enough appreciation for income that comes from PS3 owners, put your COD disk in envelope and send directly to Activision. If they would receive a few thousand copies that would pay attention next time ... I think.

Universities or companies using clusters of PS3 run some variant of LINUX. Firmware on their PS3 most likely never been updated since booting directly to Linux doesn't checks for firmware updates.
problem for them is only replacing the defective PS3 in the cluster.

I would like to point out that MS is company that was throwing lawsuits left and right against Linux which is much bigger threat all Linux user than Sony ever was.

Regarding MS ha...

You can also buy games for Sega, Atari 2600(hardware too) but neither company is manufacturing hardware or supporting NEW production.

"So, in reality, Microsoft didn't drop support, the 3rd party studios did"

Microsoft said "we will not support and license new games and we seize production of hardware in 200?" . In case of consoles MS/Sony/Nintendo have to license game in order to be publish. Since MS dropped support, even if there are 100 3r...

Drop Support = no more new games/ can not buy brand new original XBOX.

You can still buy PS2 and new games are still being released.

I actually installed Yellow Dog on my PS3.

Switching between "Default OS" and "Other OS" turned out to be most inconvenient(I'm trying to be polite here) and allowing only 256MB RAM was enough for me to give up on this feature.
Installed Ubuntu on my PC(dual boot).

GeoHot is the one who opens Pandora Box. He may never ever have any intention to pirate games but once the hack is published(maybe big ego!) there will be plenty others crackers who will see that as a opportunity to make money illegally of it. That don't care that GeoHot is brilliant.

Your example of iPhone is not exactly accurate imho. Mainly because people still have buy iPhone even if they want to use it with other carrier. Closer would be an example when there is a hack th...

You have an option to select 2D or 3D

If one chooses 3D will get 2 options:
- I have 3D compatible TV
- I will use 3D glasses

Many new 120Hz TV brands can be upgrade to 3D via firmware(if manufacturer will decide to do it).

In one post you say
"Xbox - cool average people with lives outside of gaming"

and a couple minutes later you post
"xbox live - where millions play everyday"

Decide- either 'they' have lives outside gaming or 'they' do not .... since millions play online.

Make up you mind.

2 years ago they show a trailer( I believe 2007 E3). It was daylight, very detailed environment, Alan walking around.

Now, 2 years later, everything they show takes place at night. Why?
Was the the game redesign?
Is making that game darker/at night requires less processing power?

If playing online would be free (included in silver) , would you be willing to pay $50 for extra features?

Sales numbers are for publishers.

Consumer should be concerned with the fun/experience/quality of the product.

Wouldn't be cheaper to just buy 120GB HDrive?

"....Spawn grenades are everywhere, and even if you personally don't choose to spawn at them, everyone else does, so it doesn't really matter. So before you even speak again, do not tell me that Killzone 2 requires "skill". ...."

Spawn grenades are part of strategy not skill, just like choosing placement for turrets. Finishing at the top actually requires some combination of skills and thinking( and knowing maps).

Since 360 and PS3 are now in the same price range WHO cares.

If developers mention disk size then this slowly become an issue for example Rage is using MegaTextures which can fill out DVD very quickly.

Compression is no magic and have limitations. It is true than compressed files (since they smaller) will be stream into memory faster but then they have to be de-compress, and more they compress it takes longer to decompress them. There usually teams of 2 or 3 devs working o...
