F1 is pretty good SIM (if you want next gen graphics and physics)... though I prefer Motorstorm type games more.
I will be buying neither FORZA, GT5 or F1.
"Reminder its just a demo (forza)" -just as is GTHD.
I'm not sure but don't you need a car manufacturer agreement to show damage to the vehicle. And as far as I know if you have f.e. 90 different makes in the game then you need agreement of all 90 manufacturers to show damage to their cars or none is allowed.
It is possible that that damage will be limited to the cracked windshields and some paint scratches or they have some made up car brands which would allowed to show realistic damage.
I need to download FORZA...

If it is it could be used for folding, but for now it looks like it can be done only on PC with X1900.
Also FOLDING on X1900 can be used for very limited and specific range of simulation.
Cell provides much greater simulation range that can handle and of course PC CPU being general purpose can handle whole range but it is really slow.

Everything evolves, cell phone is not just phone anymore...
I like movies and I like Blu-ray (one of the reasons I bought PS3).
Many features put in one box, no need for external WiFi, HD player, card reader, no external power adapter.
"This article is NOT about the power of the PlayStation 3. It has nothing to do with the potential of he PlayStation 3. This article, however, is emphasising the sheer audacity that yet again more multiplatform games look better, and in some cases play better, on the cheaper Xbox 360."
So why the sarcasm? -"Developers hate you...Accept it"
BTW $400+extras for 360(which I own) is not really cheap either. If you want pure gaming console buy Wi...
... if Elite has build-in power adapter or still is it external?
Exactly what 4.1 said. For me split screen always feels distractive but there are thousands gamers that love it.
I would like to see improvement in background textures.
I know that. I wasn't clear so thanks for pointing this out anyway.
What a meant is that megabits of data that can be transfer per sec by 5400rpm drive is enough to guarantee constant stream for "in game requirements" (while playing data is being read).
Loading time of a full game from the 7200 hard drive compared to 5400 would not change your game experience.
7200 is necessary neither for PS3 nor xbox 360.
5400 HD provides enough bandwidth for games and other media and it runs cooler. If a drive would run with sustained speed of 7200rpm for some period of time it would fried your system. Data are streamed from HD when they are needed/requested and this doesn't happen 100% of time you play game.
If it comes to security it is handled by console OS and private data are stored in Flash Memory. Hard drive mostly keeps management...
When we play games we're waisting electricity anyway!!
"Are your games available on PC or other consoles?" - I was playing games exclusively on PC but cost is kind of high. Just good graphics card is about the same price as a console(good for next 5 years). And now to play Windows Vista games you need new GPU($400 to $700), VISTA itself($159 to $300) plus most likely new MB, faster memory and so on. For the price of upgrading my PC I got all 3 consoles. No more PC gaming for.
If you're also PC gamer you should not complain about ...
"Live members will tell you it's well worth the money. If you aren't a member, HOLD YOUR comments!"
--> Same could be said if you do not own PS3: HOLD YOUR comments!
"halo 3 , mass effect , bioshock" - as of now nobody knows if they as good as advertised.
So you saying because they on 360 must be excellent but you would bash any PS3 game without playing it. That's objective.
"xbox live ownes playstation network...
BTW HD movies look better and are sharper. Upscaling is not a magic. It enlarges picture from 480 lines to 720 or 1080 lines, then performs deblocking, sharping, blurring and denoising. If the original picture did not have some details upscaled ver will not have them it either. The other thing you would notice is that sound is much better.
$400 is not cheap either plus LIVE, rechargeable battery pack (that's what I got with White box)
PS3, well for $600 it will be bette...
Whatever was said by Sony about 360 was said by officials and they pay price for it i.e. bad press, Kutarogi got fired/"promoted".
Both companies bash competing consoles. Neither MS or Sony is a SAINT.
Sending SMSs,blowing whistles from rooftops, giving chairs with printed web link to 'welcome to next gen Sony' that's a bit low and lack of respect for competition and customers waiting in line to buy PS3.
How would you feel if you were waiting in l...
Folding was always important but till now not that many people care about it. Because of CELL and Sony even you are aware of it. You can donate some your PC CPU.That would also be gratefully appreciated.
Just downloaded from http://folding.stanford.edu Windows ver of F@H.
ON PC 41 sec/frame with 55 to 76% CPU (SET to use 100% of CPU)
On PS3 0.07 Sec/frame(1st WU I've done .04 sec/frame)
PC spec Intel single core 2.8Ghz- Turn OFF most of the background processes.
I will try the same on my ATHLON 2.8GHz and MacPro 2.66GHz 2xDual-Core Intel Xeon Processors.
down play and ridicule something important like Folding@Home.
Games are Entertainment and nothing more. It is actually good idea to do something that might help all of you in the future instead always thinking ME and for ME only.
That would be more then 30% of 256MB ...and very unlikely to be the exact number.
Though I would like to see some official confirmation(not by MS employee) of PS3 Memory requirements.
The other thing is I thought that PS3 OS was based on LINUX which is always more flexible(use only modules/kernel that you need ->Cell phones, TVs) and slimmer than anything that MS develops like for example PC OS.
Using that much RAM for OS would be really a dumb idea.
when people that have only one console make pointless comments about competition based on web video.
I actually downloaded both demos.... and GT looks better. Is there a huge difference: NO but noticeable right away.
