"It sold 1.5 million copies in it's first 24 hours."
Do you have any actual sources to back that up besides the words of a nameless insider? They'very been known to be completely incorrect on several occasions.
Because your argument makes no sense. In what way does this service "doom the industry"?
Reading comprehension clearly isn't your strong suit. It's not a scam because the games are being released on PS4. It is a scam because publishers are charging full price for games that came out one or two years ago that can be purchased for 20 bucks or less.
If you can't even comprehend the differences in pricing for old and new games, and why this trend is a problem, then you probably deserve to get ripped off.
There's a difference between developing for two generations simultaneously and releasing them on the same day as each other, than there is to take a last gen game from a year ago, that's already reduced in price, and charge full retail for it, because of a graphics update.
You apparently missed the point of the article. Cross gen games aren't the problem. Last gen games from a year ago being sold again for full price is the problem.
This article doesn't bring up any sources to back up his claim about the sales numbers. I'd take this authors word with a grain of salt.
A remastered last gen title from barely a year ago selling over 1 million units in the first day is completely unrealistic. People on this site are so gullible, it's not even funny.
"Ps3 and 360 do too." All support has dropped." Name me one exclusive that's coming out for either."
Persona 5
Escape from Dead Island
Assassin's Creed Rogue
That's not even counting all the cross gen games coming out this year. If anything, last gen is getting more support than next gen right now. Literally the only next Gen exclusive coming out this year is Unity and Sunset Overdrive. Everyt...
I rarely see death threats being spouted by videogame fanboys. Either way, those are present in music and movie fanbases as well.
I don't think it's being handled horribly. The user base for last gen consoles is much larger than next gen. The reason they're releasing Rogue later is because they want to increase sales for Unity. Since most last gen owners don't own a PS4 or Xbox One, they'd have no choice but to buy Rouge anyway.
CGI trailers have been used as marketing material for decades. Again I fail to understand why these journalists treat things like this as if it's a new trend or something.
So because Call of Duty does it, that automatically makes it okay?
It's hilarious how you fanboys try to justify crappie business decisions whenever you're favorite company gets criticized.
They have been going overboard with the release of new DLC. Charging for new online maps, and story DLC is fine. But charging for difficulty modes, unbalanced weapons, and costumes, is ridiculous.
Funny how all these journalists were gushing over remastered last gen games from barely a year ago like TLOU, Tomb Raider DE, and GTA, but somehow when a game that came out several years ago on a system that most people don't own and can't even purchase in the store anymore, gets remastered for a new generation, it's considered exploitation?
The amount of hypocrisy surrounding this community is astounding.
Yeah. You're right. Paying $15 to stream a game that costs $5 at the store is totally worth it, if I can play it on my tablet for a limited time only with a bunch of lag and Internet connection required.
Streaming these games on tablets doesn't make these prices any less of a ripoff.
Most of the hype is generated by the gaming press and other gamers with unrealistically high expectations. I went into the beta avoiding most of the hype and not having any expectations, yet I ended up enjoying myself.
But hey, this is the same click bait, site that wanted Destiny to fail over an assumption that wasn't supported by anything, so I csn't expect them to listen to logic and reasoning.
I don't even see how they're comparable. One is a single player story driven interactive ScI fi drama with cover shooting sections in between cutscenes. The other is a full on multiplayer Co op FPS mmo game where the story is secondary.
And from what I'be played, Destiny seems to have better shooting mechanics, and level design than Mass Effect. But apparently those aspects don't matter to people, if it doesn't have a pretentious story.
How anyone views PS Now as a better value than EA access is just baffling to me. It's almost as if people like getting off.
Say what you want about EA, but they at least had the audacity to announce reasonable prices for their service before it went to beta, and didn't make arrogant statements about their service being better than Sony's.
I don't see what the problem is. The last RE remake was only released on Gamecube, so anyone who didn't own that system (which is a large amount) was unable to play the game. And unlike TLOU or GTAV, this game came out several years ago, so it actually makes sense to remake it again for a new generation.
Remakes of remakes have been going on since DVD and Blu_Ray were introduced yet, these pretentious journalists act like this is some new trend or something.
Bioshock Infinite wasn't a good game on it's own merits, to be honest.
Yeah. The lineup itself is pretty terrible. Given the prices these games are going for, I'd at least expect them to put newer more popular games like GOW, TLOU, Uncharted etc, on the lineup.
The games they currently have now, makes the service look even less appealing than its pricing model.
Exactly.
