Love all the disgarees on this! Most technology runs a Linux kernel, MANY more Linux computers out there than anything else. It's the future....and the future started years ago, haha.
I don't understand...why fight it? Linux is free, the OS's are free, the software is faster+better+MODERN. Plus, you get many more OS's, and many more updates. Linux is used for a reason. And it's not because it's crap.

Linux isn't hard to port games too. Hell, it's actually MUCH easier to make games on Linux rather than Windows with OpenGL. OpenGL is a dream compared to DirectX API. Faster, more features, everything is worse with Windows. Plus, Linux runs better than Windows on the same hardware, especially old machines. But the games shouldn't be hard to port. They'll have to adapt their games to Linux with OpenGL. Or they'll have to start a project with Linux in mind from the start and...
He hacked it because it was a challenge. Because nobody messed with it. Okay he did it, but who cares? It still delayed the hacking by SIX YEARS. Get over yourself, if they don't include a way to program the hardware directly, they should be hacked WIDE open. Piracy is the punishment.
Especially when they didn't include the best security device there is against it: A way to program the console. Look at the PS3...it wasn't touched until they took Other OS away. Every other console was.
Campaign, I dunno. COD4 will smack any Halo campaign there is. Although the newer ones, I'd take Halo's story over them. Now gameplay wise, COD sucks since 4 and is the same thing....but I dunno if I'd say Halo can compete with any COD single player in that department. They just have better game play with or without story in single player. Now multiplayer, Halo 4 beats newer CODS for sure. Halo 3 most definitely. COD4 though is a bit better in multiplayer for sure.
Considering I hear plenty of people say they picked up a PS3 to play games online for free, I'm 99% sure doing this would be bad....wait no, not bad...suicide.
That system is an emulator, on top of that. It also has a bunch of other emus on it too.
18.5 Mill/$60=baout 300K copies that need to be sold to move that much money. SO lets say 400K copies to break even, and everything else is profit.
Why in the HELL are games selling 5 Million copies, and then charging $10 for some on disk DLC, $10 for a map pack, $10 for an extra mode, etc? Stay afloat my ASS, the prey on the foolish gamers willing to drop that kind of money for content like it's standard to do so. Shame. Your favorite developer, sure. But not every game ...
It's an emu, they're hacking in to it as we speak. Much better to buy a PSP and mod it with an Emu, as you'll be doing that to that soon anyway because their emu sucks. They're also going to fix the video output by scaling it correctly.
I JUST got done playing it through in SP. Man, the story is great. But HOLY CRAP is the game play BAD. Doing things 3 times is annoying as hell, especially when it makes it feel like a grind and wasn't fun the first time. Just really drawn out, way too many enemies in one place and way TOO few types of enemies. Honestly, I was disappointed in the game play 100%, but the story was the opposite and was amazing. It's a shame it had to be so badly done and hurt the experience for me, but ...
Wrong, moron. x64 is just an extension of x84, functionally they work the same. One just has a 64-bit instruction size, and one has a 32-bit. The patent for the GPU part is them planning on using ONE chip and ONE GPU, but combining the functionality of both chips in to one, where it gets toggled, as the way you write/DMA to the GPU on Intel architecture is probably a bit different from on the Cell. Basically, it means it's almost 100% certain that the next console will use a X64 processor...
3-4-5:
Saying anything after COD4 is good is just mental. It was the climax, and the beginning of decline all in one swoop.
What a joke. How many inide games have you bought? What a crock of sh**. Developers fail because they make bad games and have bad management. Not because they're starved for money. They're maximizing profits, not staying a float f***tard. I'll buy all my games 3 months old, with online, and for $35 on steam thank you. Would games that haven't made money go for that price? LOL HELL NO.
And I do program. I make games myself. I can tell you, this is ALL just sh**...
You like that? Man, it seems like every single gamer out there is pretty much just a tool today. Supporting that garbage is retarded. Only an IDIOT could justify DLC or online passes. I buy a game disk, I get the right to use the online. End of story. The person who bought it isn't evem taking up server space, FFS! F*** those publishers. And f*** people who support that.
This is basically a red flag for an AMD (Or intel, hopefully not.) CPU, along with an IBM "Cell" processor. Odds are they'll have a GPU for the cell, and one for the next system. I bet they also use the GPU for the cell as the OS GPU to save hardware resources. Or the other way around, PS3 game runs, the main GPU will be for the OS.
Interesting. It doesn't say much else though, we'll have to see.

2000000/7000=$285.
What Wii costs $285? lol. Must have been WiiU's.
Haha I got a disagree. What morons on this site.
Defender was a work of art in all areas. Game design, programming, sound effects. Best game released in 1980, really pushed the limits. The games that followed by Williams/Vid Kidz like Joust, Robotron 2084, etc. were also GREAT as well. Such a good company.
For all these tools, the open source equivalents are ahead of nearly all these tools. Plus, any aspiring developer should stay as FARRRR away from Adobe as possible. What a waste of time really.
