A bit more expensive for the full game, yes?
Only problem with a track ball to me is getting the size good without eliminating anything that'd be needed, like 4 buttons. It needs to be big for accuracy, but too big means you have to cut something out. Valve's idea is great, but still...you have to chose between buttons and a trackball, which kinda puts a damper on it as most games use every button on modern controllers.
Cell processor turned out to be hard to use to even get equal power to normal processor. Them moving to little endian and normal (for gaming, BETTER) architecture is a good thing for everyone.
I hope they cut 2 to 4GB of RAM out of the 720 and make it DDR5 too. COmputers of next gen will need the speed IMO. Although them using DDR5 would mean they'd probably want to up the clock too because 1.6Ghz probably have very low latency with DDR3 (Don't recall access time off the top of my head, but it's slower than 1.6Ghz) but still, I think using DDR3 will handicap them in a way nothing else can. A HUGE cache L2+L3 would be needed to offset the DDR3 usage...it'll be intere...
The thing about this is they want to force it and regulate it. Game ratings are NOT CHEAP. You need to have $5000 to even have the ESRB think about rating it. Indies and independant programmers like me have nowhere near that type of money to waste to get a game to market. Imagine if every app needed $5000 to be on the app store, or XBLIG. Yeah, you'll kiss 95% of the apps on there good bye because they're made by a few people that want to. Not by a company backed group.
Too bad the one linked to has one horrible flaw that automatically makes sure it'll never be released. The grip is designed to be gipped in a way that would cover up the butons, making pressing a button and using the analog stick impossible and also make you move a FAR distance+change your grip every time you pressed a button. Modern controllers ala PS3 and 360 space the buttons in and up because you have travel, but you never have to change your grip.
That controller wil...
What a joke. As a game programmer, I'm just laughing...games are art and are protected by freedom of speech, so doing this and I'll just have to find myself a lawyer to go through this with me.
Not going to happen. Ever. All ratings are done by independent companies for games, movies, etc. They keep it pretty clean and clear cut to me, it's not broken.
Hey morons, systems don't sell with sh*t games backing them up. Now, PS2 has the sh*ttiest library of any console by numbers, but it also has 2000 games. Since at minimum 5% are pretty darn good, that's 100 games. Try finding that many great games for any other system. You won't. It's not all about sales, it's about the games, but the SALES show how good the system really was compared to everything else. Get the f*ck over yourself you n4g valid argument b*stardizers. Nothi...
Not even close, PS2 trashed everything last gen. Sold over 150 Million units. If you think selling 70 million and not releasing 1/2 the library as the PS2 this gen is half as impressive as that, you are pretty dumb. Ps2 was awesome and dominated, PS3 is nice and good, but it didn't. Can't have your cake and eat it too all the time. In fact, surviving a generation in this market is pretty good of a feat, too. Look how few even think about trying to enter it and face the top consoles. ...
Think about it. If you double the width, to keep the same aspect ratio, you also need double the height. 2*2 screen gives you 4x as much space. Dunno why they chose it, but it really just means "4x 1080p."
Nintendo smashed both PS3 and 360 in console sales, plus they never sold at a loss. So really, Sony is just the first loser now.
Projector bulbs are the price of Kinect it's self, you can expect this to be a pretty expensive add-on.
Pretty much every gamer article said they were normal Wii's. I pointed it out in a few articles that wiis shouldn't cost nearly $400, lol.
Guns are for defense from criminals or in a situation where your life is in danger, along with hunting. If I'm on my roof while my house is getting attacked because my house has supplies in a mass shortage, I need to be able to defend it adequately. Standing on the roof with an 30 round AR-15 would be MINIMUM to defend myself. Actually, it may be too small even. A SAW would be more adequate. So why can't I own these? It's my legal right.
But still, maybe another r...
Just gonna point this out....they're putting out a console bound to fail. They just wasted every penny put in to it IMO. They're going to stay out of the limelight and just make parts for a while, nothing else will change. Not every product made means game-change. None. Look at where the Wii was supposed to take us years ago, and yet controllers are just as dominant as they were. Heck, even more so since the new Wii has a hand-held and a real controller.
New products ...
It's only inevitable that digital will take over as long as people are okay with forfeiting their rights to owning a physical game with proof, not renting it digitally for use.
If it goes all digital, they'll for sure lose me. In fact, I will pirate everything. I will not give up my right to OWN an actual game. Never.
Missed the biggest and nearly guaranteed best one: Pier Solar.
It's running Linux, gius. Never, ever will it run DirectX natively. Linux is a different OS for a reason, it's a completely different computer system. Steambox will run OpenGL. Which, is a GREAT thing. OpenGL is taking over graphics everywhere. It is a much more modern, fast, and just better 3D library than anything else out there. That's all it will run. Welcome to Linux, and welcome to the future of gaming.
(Bonus points: Linux based OS's usually runs about ...
None, because the companies get huge discounts/free products because they're that company. And Adobe is a standards for what? Graphics editing? It's not like that's really hard to be knocked out of, it's not something that's tied to a real proprietary and hard to change format like IEEE standards, hahahaa. But still, Linux is standard for any real graphics work (Pixar runs 100% Linux machines for their big-time animations.), and do you see any Photoshop on Linux? I don'...
Best place to build a PC is from Newegg. Of course you should never touch dell, DELL SUCKS. The only anywhere decent computers they have are on alienware with all the lights, and they're outrageous.
Spend $800, get a 3.8Ghz AMD FX rig with good 7000 series GPU, 8GB CPU RAM, 500GB HDD, $20 audio card, and whatever else you want. It's not very difficult to build a great PC for cheapish. $800 is a lot of money, but it'll be playing games on Ultra the next 2 years, an...
