99% of a consoles features wanted are in software, not hardware. I'm sure the proposed hardware has been changed many times over the cost/wanted ability rather than any feature. Computers are so powerful, any feature you want can be added, just have to invest the time. The games are the only big features that need to know what the hardware provides, really. 2D menus and linked accounts is all server/software side.
Considering the patent for (basically) a dynamically switching hardware layout, I'm 99% sure you'll see the a PS3 hardware alongside the new hardware on the CPU/GPU dies or an external SoC like the new 360's.
Chrome and Linux will make it an automatic for me. Anything with that is a good system.
Why is everyone saying "Internal rechargeable!" that's a BAD idea. It WILL eventually die, the best batteries today only last so long. 2 Years on a laptop battery, and a few hundred charges on cell batteries. So, why would you want a controller only to work for 2 years? I wouldn't want that. I'd rather have an add-on rechargeable, but I want a CORD with my controller. I never play with my 360 controller unplugged after getting the plug and charge kit.
Nothing more ignorant than spending 10x on a tool just because you don't want to learn how to use it.
Origin sucks, Apple sucks...seems to be a good partnership. Too bad hipsters don't buy EA games. Or real games in general.
On the bright side, EA will probably never port it to Linux. Would be easy considering it's a Unix-Like OS, oh well. Hopefully not. Linux only needs, and only wants, Steam. And it got it. Woo. :)
ZSNES is an inaccurate pile of garbage. Move to SNES9X at minimum, Higan if your computer handle it. (Dual core @ 2.4Ghz, AMD 3000+ GPU.) (Also emulates NES, GB(/A/C/DS), and a few odds and ends.)
The better hardware had the better games. It's not that it's an Alien Architecture. Well, that may be 5% of it, but that alien architecture has no place in computer programming without huge huge huge singular type of data processing. Games are dynamic. They're not data processors of one type of data all the time, it needs to do lots of different things fast. The Cell failed, because the vector processing architecture is NOT efficient for game programming, and it never will be. The...
It probably would. But not to any gamer. Only a bunch of hipsters who don't know a single thing about technology and want the status symbol. But it won't work because you don't bring it out in public enough like most other successful Apple status symbols. Apple can suck one. They're no different then a dictatorship. To even snease at the App Store is $100 a year+Owning a Mac with the most recent OS+An iPhone. That's BS!
Android and Linux are the Future. Th...
Well when the company who makes the great hardware provides terrible drivers and no way for developers to REALLY test SLI cards, this is expected.
This whole article is about Super Fighter Team. They release OFFICIAL ports of games already released in different regions like Japan only and such. No new content, just game hackers that translate them really. Sucks Homebrewers who actually make new content get no media attention, but this hacker group does. Shame.
Since last year!
Last SNES game released: 2012.
Last NES game released: 2013.
You should check out Homebrew for the systems, there's tons of new content being released for NES. Not so much SNES but that may be changing. :)
And the prices are usually about $35 per copy, maybe a bit more or less. Depends on the hardware, really.
I'm an NES homebrewer BTW, hence why I am in to this stuff. :) But yeah there's ...
COD hasn't been good since COD4. BO1 was terrible, MW2 was terrible overpowered weapon online with drawn out story mode, WAW trash, MW3 trash multiplayer. COD4 though...masterpiece. Balanced online that wasn't about better connection (usually), great not drawn out story, great...although script kitties screwed the online so it's hard to say it's still the game it was when released sadly.
Not only is it not as good, it looks worse each game too. I couldn't ...
For writing software to work with hardware you own? In what world? That's complete BS. I buy something, I can hack it, interface with my own hardware, or use it as a doorstop if I like. You can't do anything about it. If you tried to sue, you'd be rightfully bankrupted.
I'd love if they put up some more documentation on how the USB 360's controller protocol is, as information when I searched last year was SCARCE. There was the packet information but no doc...
As somebody who has a few friends that probably are as close to professional at SSB, the games all got slower as they continued. SSB on N64 was as fast as heck, Gamecube was a lot sower. And yes, brawl continued to slow down. Not that it's a huge deal, it makes certain ways of playing work better. But it does feel weird. I switch between the N64 and GC one all the time as those are our main contest games.
More on topic about the Playstation All-Stars...how do they expect...
The WiiU has to have an APU somewhere. I'd be surprised if it wasn't on an external decoding area, on top of that. But it doesn't mean it's dedicated, the CPU will be the APU if there's no dedicated one to it. So it does have an APU, just not a hardware one.
As an NES programmer and homebrew guy I know what you're talking about, bu still. That synth is a POS really, who cares about it deeply? If you're using it for music, you have a mentally challenged group of people. And that A2600 guitar? Man, how terrible sounding.
Atari did screw the entire industry. They single handedly caused the video game crash, and they also produced the WORST games on the Atari. If you play the 2600 more than your 3DS+Vita, you need to get your...

Garbage, don't go ahead, it's just the battle scenes from the video.
To make the most money for R&D costs, they should just make their games work with kinect. It's been hacked wide open. How many games would be sold to Kinect+PS3 owners if they released a GOOD game that works with it? They can always update it to work with their version of kinect later, but still...I'd love to see that tried. It's crazy enough to bomb, but it'd be great for the people who own a kinect AND PS3. IMO, it'd be the best innovation all generation. Supporting ...
